1000+ Best Instagram Captions & How to Use Them Effectively

Instagram is a visual platform, but that doesn’t mean you can ignore written text altogether. In fact, Instagram captions are a very important piece of Instagram and you have to spend part of your time making them great.

Creating solid Instagram captions that represent your photo and also your brand is a tough task. Filters and high-quality photos aren’t the only thing that matter anymore— you’ve got to put that vibe into words and connect with your followers.

There are plenty of styles that you can create for your captions— serious, witty, fun, inspirational, and more. You should also consider how to include a call-to-action (CTA) so that you get more engagement on your photos. Talk about pressure!

Your main goal through Instagram captions is to connect with your audience and build your relationship, adding value to your content.

If you need some guidance in creating effective Instagram captions that will deliver better performance for your posts and engagement, we’re here to help.

We’ve created this ultimate guide to captions by creating lists of caption ideas for your Instagram posts, organized into categories. We also include tips and tricks to help you get some inspiration.

All in all, the captions we’ve created can be used on their own, or can be combined with other writing that you want to include. The main thing is to get your gears turning and create some great ideas for your content captions on Instagram.

Let’s get started!

How A Good Instagram Caption Can Increase Your Instagram Engagement Rate

Instagram captions help users to understand your photo better; it also allows you to reveal your personality and voice through the captions in a way that the photo may not have been able to do.

Using captions can give your photos even more details and meaning through clarification and stories. They can also inspire your followers and build a bond with your audience.

Those are great things that your captions can do, but another thing your captions can do is to boost your Instagram engagement.

When you have an effective Instagram caption, it will encourage your followers to like, comment on, and give viewers a reason to take action. How?

Using calls-to-action (CTAs) in your captions will prompt your users to do what you tell them to. If you don’t use CTAs in your captioning, it’ll be tough to get more engagement and get your brand to stand out.

People want to feel involved in your content, they don’t want to feel like you’re talking at them. Using CTAs and addressing your followers can avoid this.

The first thing you should consider when writing Instagram captions that perform well is its length. Users will spend more time reading through your caption, increasing the time they spend on your photos and thinking about you or your brand.

That doesn’t mean all of your captions have to be long— you can still have a variety. But keep in mind that longer captions (where appropriate) can have a big impact on your viewers.

In addition, your caption should have a purpose, regardless of how long it is. You want your followers to relate to your captions. This will lead to more engagement and it’s likely users will either like or comment on your photo.

While there are a lot of factors that can affect your engagement rate, using effective captions is a big piece to the puzzle.

7 Copywriting Ideas to Convert Your Good Instagram Captions into Great Instagram Captions

These 7 tips can help you to focus your captions in a way that will elevate them and resonate more with your followers.

1. Show Who You Are

The main thing that your caption should do is show users your personality— yes, even if you are a brand or business, you have a personality. Social media is an amazing and unique opportunity to show your audience who you are and what you’re all about.

Building a strong voice on Instagram and using that voice in your captions is absolutely imperative. You have to keep a consistent brand image and each caption you create should reflect that, especially if you want to see more engagement and get more Instagram followers.

Once you have developed a consistent brand voice through captions, your followers will know what to expect from you and can then start to build a relationship with your brand, business, or with you directly.

Old Navy is a great example of this. They have fun and lighthearted captions that can resonate with all of their followers. For example: “shorts worth shaving above the knee for #oldnavystyle.” lighthearted and engaging!

They also address social issues, such as their Juneteenth post, as well as their father’s day post. Very cool. You want your brand to be strong and identifiable, just like Old Navy.

2. Add Context

Our second Instagram caption copywriting strategy is to add context to your photos. It’s a very simple concept and one that will give your photo even more meaning. If your caption is strong, it will keep your followers glued to your content.

Add information through your caption that they wouldn’t know just looking at the photo itself.

@EmilySkyeFit always does this. She’s been documenting her postpartum workout journey, and looking at her photos, you would think they were just run-of-the-mill fitness photos. Emily Skye is a pro at going behind the photo and diving into additional context and meaning, providing value to her millions of followers.

Her photos aren’t just for fun— they document her own fitness struggles and connect on a personal level with many of her followers. That’s exactly what a caption should do through added context.

3. Share Inspiration

Another very powerful strategy for your Instagram captions is to share inspiration through your Instagram captions. There is plenty of inspiration on Instagram, with stories, posts, quotes, and more filling the platform.

Users are greatly affected by inspirational content and will likely feel a human connection with your brand when you use inspiration in your content. If you want some ideas on using inspiration in your content, take a look at @humansofny.

You can also look at @danaemercer and @bossbabe.inc. While these three accounts are all very niche-specific, you can see a variety of ways that these brands use their content and captioning to inspire their followers on Instagram.

Share something that will positively affect your Instagram followers and reach them in relation to their hopes, dreams, life experiences, and challenges. This will make your content worth sharing and engaging with, and they can’t get it from a simple photo alone.

4. Tell Your Brand’s Story

Instagram users want to connect with brands; many people on Instagram connect with brands better when they support issues and causes that they are passionate about.

Use Instagram to show your followers and audience what your brand is all about and what’s behind your normal day-to-day business stuff. If your brand or business supports a particular cause or gives back to the community, talk about it in your captions!

Users like to see this kind of thing and it will impact your audience in a big way. If you tell your brand’s story, people will be able to see that you have worked hard to create something that is meaningful and gives back to the community.

Toms shoes @toms is known for doing this— they’re always using their captions to remind their audience what the purpose of Toms is and how buying from them helps to get more shoes out to people in the world.

5. Be Relatable and Authentic

Even though social media is all online, your content and brand will perform better if you can connect with people on a real, human level. Seems pretty easy, right?

You want to be relatable and authentic so that your followers can feel that human connection and not see you as just a brand behind a screen. You will go a lot further when your captions are relatable, and you can even show your personality that way, too.

Using a personal story or a relatable experience can help show your human side and also how your brand or business can help make life better. You don’t want to sound like a generic robot.

@REI does this very well. They’re always connecting with their followers through relatable and authentic content, bringing nature experiences and questions to their followers.

6. Provide Value and Education to your followers

If you want to provide value to your followers through your Instagram captions, you can educate them about something. While this isn’t the only way to add value, it definitely does come in handy and can even lead to your content being saved more often.

Your followers will not only get new information from you, but also give credibility and authority to your brand and product as an expert in your niche.

Some things you can use to educate your followers are questions, fun facts, statistics, or background information. If you want to write good Instagram captions that keep your followers coming back for more and engaging, this is an element that you simply can’t ignore.

Accounts like @thefoodbabe and @berkey_filters are great examples of how you can inform your followers of new information through your captions and expand on your content with facts that will add value.

7. Spotlight an Employee or Team Member

It’s been shown that Instagram posts that feature people get higher levels of engagement. This means that you should find ways to include people. After all, your content will be more relatable and inspire users to feel good about purchasing from you when they can see themselves in the post.

Creating captions for Instagram that tell a story and show a positive company culture is something that will no doubt lead to great business results and more social media followers.

A great way to do this is to show appreciation for your team or employees by doing a spotlight. When you spotlight an employee or team member, it’s engaging, users feel that your brand cares about people, and they can learn something about the people that represent your business.

If you want to boost your engagement, this content type is excellent, and your caption will only help it to perform well and give insight into your brand on a human level. @Starbucks and @nordstrom have been known to do this.

They both do this via their content feed, as well as in Instagram stories. They use a direct quote from their team member, or they tell a story about this person. Try it out! It’s very powerful.

5 Ways to Further Optimize Your Captions

The tips above provide insight on what your caption should do for your content and followers, but this next section will give us more information on how you can do it.

The following 5 tips are very important in creating the best Instagram captions possible. Let’s take a look.

1. Include CTAs

We’ve mentioned this a few times already, so you can probably guess that this is a very important element of your Instagram caption.

A call-to-action (CTA) makes a huge difference in getting your followers to carry out an action after seeing your content.

If you create a powerful CTA, your followers will be likely to engage with your content, visit your Instagram profile, check out your business website, sign up for a newsletter, purchase your products, or share your content.

This is exactly what you want! So why not tell your followers exactly what to do?

Some calls to action include:

  • Link in bio
  • Check it out on our website
  • Visit our site for more information
  • Purchase
  • Sign up for our newsletter
  • Like this picture
  • Tag a friend
  • Save this picture

These are some of the most common actions that you will want your Instagram followers and viewers to take. Your CTAs should be clear and engaging, but not overly spammy, salesy, or desperate. Make them fit with your brand’s voice and personality.

2. Use Emojis

People love using emojis these days, and they give real insight into your Instagram content and how you’re feeling. They bring your words to life in yet another way.

You don’t want them to invade your whole caption, though— they should complement your content. You want your caption to be intelligible and written at a high level or in your brand’s voice, so don’t let emojis take over completely.

They could also be a placeholder for some words, such as “fun in the ☀️”

Alternatively, you could nix almost all of the words and just use emojis to represent your words. If you look closely at Instagram captions these days, almost every single one will use at least one emoji.

All of the brands that we’ve mentioned so far on the list use them in their captions, so you should look at similar accounts in your niche and think about how you can implement them as well.

3. Space out Your Caption

As we mentioned, long captions work great for engagement, but you also don’t want it to be jammed together. You want to have line breaks in your caption so that people can see between ideas and also have a better reading experience.

In fact, if you have a long caption with no breaks, it may completely deter your follower from reading it at all. Write good Instagram captions— use line breaks.

You can use just a simple space, or you can put a period or bullet point to show the space. You could even input emojis in the spaces if you want to add even more color.

Take a look at @emilyskyefit, @amypurdygurl, or pretty much any other influencer on Instagram for more inspiration on how to do this.

4. Mention Relevant Users

Instagram is a social network, so you should try to make as many connections as possible. When you use @mentions in your Instagram content, it will notify the account that you tagged. This prompts users to engage with the content.

Isn’t it exciting when you get tagged in a post on Instagram? Wouldn’t you love it if your content got shared by a brand or business?

You can encourage your followers to tag your brand or hashtag for a chance to be featured, and you can also use mentions in your content to tag the people and accounts relevant to the content.

If you mention influencers and celebrities in your captions, they’ll be likely to take a look. You may even get featured on their account, which is huge in terms of exposure.

If your photo features a particular influencer or user, tag that person; you can also tag other brands or businesses that are featured by products in your photo (which is especially useful for Instagram influencers to build relationships with brands).

All in all, your captions will get more engagement and views when you mention other Instagram users.

5. Incorporate your Hashtag Strategy

Last but certainly not least, your hashtags will also need to go in your caption. Instagram posts with at least 1 hashtag gets 12.6% more engagement on average.

If you want to reach new people and get discovered by new users, you should use hashtags. You can use hashtags that are relevant to your niche and content, as well as a branded hashtag that you create for a particular campaign.

@tidelaundy, @oldspice, and @cocacola have all done this with success, among many other users. You can combine your hashtags throughout your caption, or you can simply post them all at the end.

If you don’t want them in your caption, you can comment on your content with your hashtags and it will still get your content into that hashtag feed. This is called the “first comment” method.

Not sure about where to get your hashtags? Take a look at popular accounts in your niche or use a hashtag generator tool such as Task Ant

[STORY TIME] My friend and I met this guy in Lyon. I was traveling France trying to only use the sharing economy so I signed us up for an @eatwith meal while in Lyon (we went with him because he was the cheapest). He made us pretty decent burgers and then showed us around his neighborhood.

It turned out he was a musician and he was playing a show that night and invited us to attend.

So, later that night, we met up with him on an old bridge turned club. It was packed as people crammed into the main galley to hear the band (it was a combination jazz/salsa thing). We were definitely the only non-locals there. I mean it’s highly, highly unlikely I would have found this if it wasn’t for signing-up for @eatwith and meating that guy earlier!!

My friend and I spent the night listening to music, drinking wine, and hanging out with this guy and his friends. Itw as a wonderful night and a testament to the power of the sharing economy.

Counting down the days I can turn strangers on the road into friends again!

@NomadicMatt does a great job here of telling a story in his captions; he also uses his hashtags in the first comment so that they don’t take away from the story of his caption. See how you can tell a story that expands on a simple photo in your content?

Instagram Updates Timeline: The Complete List!

Instagram went live in 2010 and it’s come a long way since then. When Instagram first began, it was a simple social media platform that enabled its users to share photos with friends and family. Now, it’s a powerhouse of marketing, business, and ways to connect with users in your target audience for monetization and profits.

Of course, the element of sharing and connecting with others is still there, but there are now many more opportunities far beyond that. Anyone serious about creating a strong online presence should be looking to optimize their Instagram.

Instagram has been on a long journey throughout the years, and it’s changed in many ways to facilitate a more engaging and productive user experience. In fact, there have been so many updates throughout the years that it’s as if there have been multiple Instagram platforms in general.

Instagram has always been popular; after launching, it already had over a million users in a short span of two month. 50 million Instagrammers were happily using the platform as Instagram reached 2 years.

Now known as one of the big three, Instagram has earned its spot among Facebook and YouTube, becoming the third most popular social network on a global scale with over 1 billion monthly active users.

Instagram has released a variety of notable features over the years, and we’re going to give you some insight into how the platform came to be the Instagram we all know and love today.

Not only will you be able to understand Instagram’s trajectory after reading, but you’ll also have an idea about what features you should be expanding on, how to implement them into strategies, and what may be in the future for the social media giant.

Let’s get started!

Instagram Updates 2010

Here we will find all of the growth and notable information about Instagram since it’s launch in October 2010.

Instagram in October 2010

Instagram officially launched on October 6th, 2010. After one week, there were already 100k users on the platform and was sitting in the top spot as the #1 photography app in the Apple App Store.

Instagram was built in only 8 weeks, and after a year of planning, it was already gaining a significant amount of traction, foreshadowing its successful future.

The main features of Instagram at its launch was very simple: users could post photos, like and comment on these photos, and follow users. Aw, the good ol’ days! It’s much more than that now.

Instagram in December 2010

Two short months after Instagram launched it hit its first milestone— one million users. This happened on December 12th, and even though there weren’t any notable changes in the features and functionalities of the platform, it became clear that Instagram would be something that people should definitely be paying attention to.

Hashtags were officially used on Twitter in 2007 but didn’t become a staple on Instagram until January of 2011. Can you imagine an Instagram where hashtags didn’t exist? It seems like a completely different universe.

While it only took a short 3 months, it was clear that the platform needed to find a way to organize the content and make it discoverable for users to find content that they wanted to see. Hashtags did exactly that.

Today, hashtags are the most important factor in getting your content into a variety of feeds on the platform and getting it under the eyes of users in your target audience. Users can even subscribe to hashtag feeds to consistently see the related content that they are interested in, giving brands and businesses a good opportunity to be seen.

Instagram in September 2011

Coming up on one year after its launch, Instagram Version 2.0 was released to the masses. This release made the Instagram experience more user-friendly and much faster. Version 2.0 allowed users to access all camera effects from within its camera view and also added:

  • New and live filters
  • Instant tilt-shift
  • High-resolution photographs
  • Optional borders
  • One-click rotation
  • An updated icon

Woo-hoo! More photo freedom.

Instagram Updates 2012

Wait, Instagram wasn’t available on Android until 2012? Read on to find out why 2012 was a banner year for Instagram.

Instagram in April 2012

There was one big reason why the April 2012 Instagram update became one of the most significant: Instagram became available on the Android OS, which paved the way for a whole new market of users to begin using the platform. Due to this, it is no surprise that Instagram saw 50 million new users within the same month, making it even more likely that the platform would become one of the biggest social media players.

Instagram in August 2012

In August 2012, Instagram released the Photo Maps feature, which let users browse posts by scrolling through a map. This helped users find geographically relevant content. The feature was eventually discontinued in September 2016, but there are still ways you can view photo maps on Instagram today.

 Photo Maps

Instagram in December 2012

While most users may not know this, in December 2012 Instagram did something that seems pretty sketchy. There were no feature updates in December 2012 but there was another update— a change in Instagram’s terms of service.

What happened in Dec. 2012 was that Instagram gave itself the right to sell any user’s posted content to third parties without having to obtain consent from the user and without having to send any notification.

This policy was not received well by most and that’s when Instagram privacy policies began to be questioned and people began to wonder if our information and privacy is truly protected on social media.

Instagram Updates 2013

2012 brought some great features, but 2013 is when Instagram really started to pick up steam.

Instagram in May 2013

Nothing else of importance happened until May 2013, when Instagram went live with new photo tagging capabilities and the Photos of You tab that we all know (but maybe not love) today. After all, it’s a bit worrisome when someone tags you in a photo! Maybe you won’t like it.

In any case, it changed the way that we share photos and tag friends. The tab allows visitors on an Instagram profile to see a separate section of photos that this user has been tagged in. For this reason, it’s important for your reputation to make sure people only tag you in content that doesn’t make you look bad.

Instagram in June 2013

June 2013 officially marks the moment when Instagram became more than a photo sharing platform— video was introduced.

Users could now post short videos in their content, allowing more creative possibilities. This is still a huge part of

 video-sharing functionality

Instagram in July 2013

Because Instagram was becoming so popular, Instagram delivered an embed functionality for Instagram posts. This allowed for posts to be embedded and published on other platforms and websites, forums, and blogs.

Instagram in November 2013

Another big moment in Instagram history, sponsored posts became available to users in November 2013. This opened up a whole new door for advertising on social media, this update also boosted the influencer marketing industry on Instagram, now one of the most popular marketing strategies of all.

Sponsored Posts

Instagram in December 2013

You were able to start sliding into DMs in 2013 with the new direct messaging feature on Instagram direct. Now, it’s simply called DMs, and it’s a huge communication functionality of the apps.

Can you imagine a world without DMs? We can’t! How would we get memes from friends?

Instagram Updates 2014

2014 continued to be a good year for Instagram with more business expansions.

Instagram in June 2014

Users were able to control even more how they edited their photos, with June 2014 expanding editing capabilities including brightness, contrast, highlights, and shadows.

Instagram in August 2014

August 2014 was a big deal for Instagram and business endeavors with added functionality for businesses.

This is when we first saw business tools for analytics and Instagram insights, which is a vital component for brands to track how their content performs.

From this moment forward, it was clear that Instagram was a huge opportunity for businesses and brands, but it would still be some time before Instagram introduces ads on the platform.

Instagram Updates 2015

Here, we’ll see Instagram move further into the advertising space with four total updates happening in 2015.

Instagram in June 2015

Instagram brought a new update 10 months after its previous one in June 2015. This update showed off new advertising options for businesses. These functions allowed users to run ads that include actions like sign up for email newsletters, install apps, or visit a website.

Because Instagram only allows one clickable link in a user’s Instagram bio, this was a big deal for many businesses that wanted to funnel traffic from Instagram to their outside website.

In addition, users could now upload horizontal and vertical pictures in posts.

Instagram bio

Instagram in September 2015

Instagram provided its second update of 2015 in September with even more features for ads. Businesses could now run 20-second video ads on Instagram, which turned out to be a great idea. Videos get more engagement on Instagram and stand out more than static photo ads.

Instagram in October 2015

Our favorite photo feature, Boomerang, was added to Instagram just a month later in October 2015. Boomerangs are short looping videos that create a type of back-and-forth video that is similar to the movement of a boomerang, hence the name.

Let’s say you jump in front of your favorite building in town. The boomerang wil capture that, and then reverse it so you’re seen going back to the ground, and then you’ll go back up again. It loops over and over until the viewer decides to leave it.

Both TikTok and Instagram reels use looping videos, albeit longer and not reversed, so boomerang could be seen as the inspiration for these types of videos.

Instagram in November 2015

The final update of 2015 saw the removal of feed-reading applications. These were third party apps that allowed users to view Instagram feeds without using the Instagram app. This clearly didn’t work for Instagram.

Instagram Updates 2016

With a whopping 8 updates in 2016, Instagram was busy! The only other year that had this many updates was 2020, and COVID-19 probably had a big impact on that. Let’s see what 2016 did for Instagram updates.

Instagram in February 2016

With so much business expansion on Instagram, there was a real need for users to be able to switch to their business profiles quickly.

Before this, a user had to manually log out of their personal account and log into their business account. Instagram changed that, allowing users to stay logged into both accounts and toggle between them quickly.

Instagram in March 2016

A big update for Instagram was seen in 2016. This was perhaps one of the biggest and most upsetting updates for many.

Prior to March 2016, all Instagram feed content was shown in chronological order (in the order it was posted). This all changed.

The new Instagram algorithm, the one that we basically know today, focused heavily on engagement in deciding how people saw their Instagram content.

Now, Instagram users see content from the users that they engage with most, not simply from all accounts based on the order of posting. Nothing was the same!

Instagram in May 2016

With more business tools, Instagram allowed brands to get even more insight on performance in May 2016. Analytics began to include audience demographics, post impressions, and post reach, three huge pillars today.

Instagram in June 2016

Instagram became more multicultural with its instant translation feature. This allowed posts to be translated from the original post language to the user’s language instantly, which made global connection much easier.

Instagram in July 2016

With June’s update allowing for easier communication and conversation, July 2016 saw users have options for their comment section, allowing them to filter out certain comments or turn off the comment feature entirely.

Instagram in August 2016

Because Snapchat was doing so well, Instagram released what we now know to be one of its most successful features ever— Instagram stories. Instagram stories are videos or pictures that users post with available view time of just 24 hours.

Instagram stories are a huge staple of Instagram and remain an extreme success. In addition, we got image zoom in August 2016, allowing us to zoom in and take a better look at our favorite Instagram posts.

Instagram Stories

Instagram in September 2016

In September 2016 we saw another feature removal, which is the use of Instagram photo maps. While photo maps aren’t available as they were in the function, Instagram location tags does allow for a type of photo mapping per post.

Instagram in November 2016

Another heavy-hitting feature was added in the last update of 2016, November. Instagram Live launched here.

Users were now allowed to live stream events, music, conversations, and their everyday lives. This created a whole new type of content and gave brands and businesses even more ways to reach their audience.

Instagram Updates 2017

There were really few updates in 2017, with only one seen in February. Even though there weren’t many, it was a valuable one.

Instagram in February 2017

February 2017 saw Instagram carousel posts introduced, which is still a big part of Instagram’s content.

Prior to this, an Instagram user could only post one single photo in each post. Carousel posts expanded that to create albums with up to 10 photos on a single post. Users could then scroll through the photos by swiping left and right.

This is still a frequently-used content type on Instagram and provides high levels of engagement.

Instagram Updates 2018

With 2 updates in 2018, there were a variety of useful features that we saw introduced in this year.

Instagram in May 2018

One of the most notable features in 2018 was the mute feature, which allowed users to see less content from people they follow without having to unfollow them.

Instead, users could mute them, which effectively stops their posts from appearing in the feed. The muted user isn’t notified nor unfollowed, which is a win win.

Instagram in June 2018

The second update in June 2018 was more substantial with a huge feature being added— IGTV. This new feature made a world of new possibilities for video sharing with videos that could exceed 1 minute in length.

IGTV has its own standalone app or they can also be viewed in the Instagram app directly. Why was IGTV such a big deal?

IGTV is unique when considering other video apps because it’s optimized for mobile viewing, as is Instagram in general. Because videos are vertical, they’ll fill up the screen completely with no need to rotate the device, which is a more natural viewing experience for the user.

Instagram Updates 2019

There was only 1 update in 2019, making it another slow year for Instagram, but one of people’s favorite features was removed.

Instagram in October 2019

The biggest change in 2019 happened in October, when Instagram decided to remove the “following” tab. This tab previously allowed users to see what activities their followers were doing on the platform— what content they liked, commented on, or users they began to follow.

Some people appreciated this because it helped to protect their privacy and allow them to interact on the platform without having to worry about people seeing their every move. Some, however, were unhappy— they wanted to continue seeing what their friends and other users were doing.

The removal of this feature probably helped a lot of relationships, to be honest. No more seeing which selfies your girlfriend or boyfriend liked!

Instagram Updates 2020

2020 was another big year for Instagram updates, and this may have something to do with COVID-19 and the sheer volume of people using social media and digital resources.

Instagram in January 2020

Business features were expanded again in January 2020, allowing businesses to have an extra inbox tab and the capability to switch between the primary and general tab.

This allowed businesses to remain more organized in their Instagram communication.

Instagram in February 2020

In February 2020, newcategoies appeared called “following,” allowing users to see which users they interact most with and which ones they don’t follow back.

This feature is very handy in helping users decide which accounts they engage with most, which accounts they should potentially follow, and which accounts they can unfollow.

Instagram in March 2020

March saw the official announcement of COVID as a pandemic, so Instagram released different content stickers such as Stay Home and Thank Heroes to show the seriousness of the pandemic and also to show support to essential workers and those in healthcare.

Stay Home

Instagram in April 2020

Businesses got yet another main update in 2020, allowing businesses to have gift cards, food orders, and donation tools.

For all users, the desktop version of Instagram was changed to include Instagram Direct (DMs) on the desktop version. Previously, users could only send DMs via mobile; this update saw the expansion of the feature to desktop.

Instagram in May 2020

The Instagram Guides feature was launched in 2020, which is pretty handy. It lets users create a selection of posts with added commentary between them; it will then show up in the Guides tab on their profile.

 Instagram Guides

The Shops feature was also launched, allowing businesses to build ecommerce stories directly on the Instagram app. Monetization was also created for IGTV, and more GIFs were added through the implementation of Giphy to help users express themselves.

Instagram in June 2020

June 2020 saw the pinned comment feature come to life, which allowed users to pin a comment to their section which makes it easily visible by all. It shows up at the top of the comment section so that all users can see it.

Instagram in August 2020

TikTok continues to be one of the biggest platforms in social media these days, so to combat this, Instagram released its Instagram Reels feature to compete. This is the same thing that they did to combat Snapchat with IG stories.

Reels is basically TikTok on Instagram, and the feature is still expanding.

Further, Instagram expanded Instagram stories with more font options and also started the merging process for Facebook messenger and IG direct.

Instagram in September 2020

The last update of 2020 saw Live Shopping, which was meant to help businesses who use the IG live feature. Now, users can buy the products being discussed on the IG live directly via Instagram.

Influencers or businesses that are talking about a product can create a call-to-action with a button at the bottom of the screen, allowing users to buy the product right there.

Live Shopping

Instagram Updates 2021

So far we’ve seen a few added features in 2021 that have changed the way we use Instagram features. Let’s take a look.

  • January 2021: professional dashboard for all creators and business accounts
  • February 2021: Cross-app messaging between IG and Facebook, live rooms to chat with up to 4 friends simultaneously, recently deleted feature to restore deleted content for up to 30 days
  • March 2021: live communication with 3 people on video in live rooms
  • April 2021: Instagram insider digital magazine from Instagram with top creator features and frequently asked questions, remix option to reels (respond to other reels via video reels; similar to duets in TikTok)
  • Turn off audio and video on IG Live
  • May 2021: Reels and Live insights, turn off like counts option (still testing), Instagram equity update to address racial bias

And there we have it! Let’s see what else 2021 has in store for us in terms of Instagram updates.

Key Takeaways: Instagram Over the Years

One thing is clear: Instagram certainly has a lot of features that simply weren’t there at the beginning. What does that mean for users?

Be sure to take advantage of all the different features that Instagram allows you— stories, reels, IG Live, carousel posts, and more. Instagram spent years expanding on their features so that the user experience could be improved and that businesses and brands could see higher levels of success.

With an ever-evolving platform, we’re curious to see what Instagram holds in the future. If we look at past trends, they’ll continue to expand their newest features and increase offerings for businesses in terms of sales features and even more video features.

We’re ready for whatever it is!

How to Use Instagram Direct Messages to Get More Business

Direct Messages on Instagram isn’t a new feature by any means— it’s been around since 2013, so with 8 strong years of sliding into people’s DMs, it’s time to see how we can expand the use for even more productivity.

Over 375 million users are active on DMs, and that number is only growing. How can we take advantage of that number and use it to connect with our audience members?

Instagram is one of the biggest marketing tools available today because of the content sharing and messaging functions available to businesses. IG makes it easy to connect with users in your target audience on a big scale.

When you want to make even more personal connections with your followers on an individual basis, you can use DMs to do exactly that. If you haven’t started using it yet, it’s time!

Let’s take a look at what Instagram direct messages can do for your business and how you should be using them.

A Brief Overview of Instagram Direct Messages and How to Send Them

If you have somehow avoided using the DM feature on Instagram, we’ll give you a quick overview:

  • In the upper right corner of Instagram, there is a little chat bubble icon that will allow you to open direct messages.
  • There, you can view and respond to your Instagram DMs, create new messages, and also see which users tagged you in their stories.

There are also ways to send DMs outside of the main inbox:

  • If you’re watching an IG story, responding to the story will send a DM.
  • Visit someone’s profile and click the message button to send a DM.
  • If you’re looking at a post, the third icon from the left, also a paper airplane icon, will share the post into a DM to the user of your choice.

Now, you can even send more than text messages via DM— you can send voice messages, do video calls, as well as send images and videos. You have so many great ways to interact with your users and develop a winning brand strategy.

How to Use Instagram Direct Messages for Business

Instagram stories and in-feed content posts are great for reaching the masses, but DMs allow you to connect more personally with your audience.

Here are four ways you can maximize your use of Instagram direct messages to grow your business.

Connect with Leads Individually

When someone contacts you directly, it’s vital that you respond quickly; this is what people expect and if you don’t respond quickly, you’ll seem inactive.

Responding to your followers and viewers builds trust and makes connections with your leads. If someone takes the initiative to message you, you’re already ahead— they’re interested.

Interact with your users and make sure that you connect with them on a personal basis; your recommendations and contact means a lot and can inform your profitability.

Use Instagram Stories to Get Messages

The Swipe Up feature on IG stories is one of the biggest, most powerful ways to funnel traffic to your website. This feature is only available to users with over 10k followers and a business account, though.

So what if you don’t have it? Direct messages can help you make up for it in a few ways:

  • Ask a question in your stories and encourage followers to send you an answer via DMs. You can then make a connection with them.
  • If you are discussing a new product or service, add a poll to your story asking who wants more info. If you got a yes response, send that user a DM.
  • When sharing stories about upcoming events, ask your viewers to DM you for more information. You can then have real-time conversations about the event and get people interested.

You can even combine some of the features— use a poll with a question tag! This is a great way to show users that you want to hear from them and connect with them.

Use Instagram Direct Messages to Network

It’s obvious that you can use DMs to make connections with your customers, but how about possible partners? It can also expand your business contacts.

Maybe there’s an account on Instagram you’ve been following and would love to interview on IG live, or perhaps there are some industry experts that you want to create content or a blog post with. It could be that you just want an influencer, business, or IG user to share your content.

Use Instagram direct messages to help make those goals a reality! When you message someone directly, it’s much more likely that you’ll be able to get in touch with that person quickly.

Before you do this, though, be sure that you’ve been engaging with that user’s content through liking photos, commenting, viewing stories, etc. This means they’ve likely seen your username pop up a variety of times before you message them.

Your message can be light and friendly without too much rambling. Be clear and direct. If you get no response, you can follow up with them.

This shows that you’re serious about creating a relationship. If you’re wondering what are the best ways to start, here are some ideas:

  • Research their brand or business and know what value you can offer them (monetary or otherwise)
  • Ensure you’re doing this to truly build a relationship that benefits everyone, not simply asking for them to do you a favor.
  • Reference a recent post element or comment on their relevant Instagram story.

Here’s an example of how your message may look:

Hi (brand or influencer)! I just saw in your story that you’re starting a new workout program and you’re looking for accountability partners. I’m happy to do that for you— maybe we can create some different content and tag each other for accountability! Let me know 🙂 Thanks, (your name).

Hi (brand or influencer)! I just finished reading your most recent blog/ website/ book and I thought it was awesome. I’m a social media manager and I’d love to create 5-10 posts for you at no cost! Let me know if you’re interested so that we can set up a call. Thanks so much -(your name).

Reach Out to Constant Engagers

Pay attention to who is always liking your content, commenting, or viewing your stories. Do they always respond to your polls? Do they watch your IGTVs or Lives?

When you have a very active user, send them a personal message. Be authentic and genuinely thank them for engaging with your content. This personalized experience will make them feel happy and encourage them to continue engaging.

You can also offer them a special promo code or alternative thank you, which will help lead to more sales and prompt them to take action.

Why Choose Instagram Direct Messages?

There are plenty of ways to connect with your target audience, like email, text, or phone, so why bother with Instagram direct messages? People are active on social media, and they’re likely to see it very quickly.

In the past, you couldn’t send users a direct message directly from your news feed until after May 2018. Previously, direct messages from users that you weren’t following went into a pending folder, increasing the likelihood that it would be missed or unseen.

Now, that’s not the case— it’s simple to send and receive direct messages and this promotes productive conversation with your clients, leads, partners, and potential partners.

Quick Reply for Business Accounts

In order to help businesses even more, Instagram has implemented the Quick Reply feature, allowing businesses to create and load pre-created responses to make it easier to get back to your followers.

This can be particularly useful if you have a new product launch or event coming and people are going to be asking for a bunch of similar information. The quick reply helps to get that information out more effectively and without retyping it over and over again.

Here’s an example:

The event is June 10-12 in (City, State) at (venue name). Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at URL.com. Is there anything specific you’d like to know?

Tip: Don’t send pre-written messages to users who DMd you. They want you to really talk to them, not simply send a bunch of bot or generic responses. For this reason, when you use these types of quick replies, take a second to customize it for each user and make sure that the reply matches their initial message and responds to anything they told you.

How to use Quick Replies

To create a quick reply, go to the Business Settings portion of your app and select Quick Replies. You can then add, edit, or delete quick replies.

When you want to add a quick reply to a message, click the message icon with three dots. Your quick replies will appear; tap the one you want to use, edit and customize it, and send it off.

Instagram Sales

Instagram has a huge impact on sales; a Business Insider study shows that a product was purchased by 72% of IG users after seeing it on Instagram, which is a big deal. Further, 80% of social media users look to Instagram to decide which brands or businesses to support, and personalized experiences caused 49% of consumers to make a purchase.

Hence, Instagram DMs have a huge impact. You can use Instagram to promote new products in your stories and also in your content; you can do Q&A sessions on Instagram Live, and more. In all of these methods, you can let users know to contact you via DM if they need any help, have questions, or just want to say hey.

Instagram Sales

Customer Preference

People expect brands and businesses to be responsive and have an active presence on social media. Responding quickly and in a personalized way helps to show your customers that you do.

What’s more, people are very active on social media, so it’s likely that you can easily reach them and it won’t be an inconvenience for them to get back to you, making them more likely to consider buying from you or building a relationship with you.

Direct Messaging On Mac And PC – Step-By-Step

It’s super easy to DM on a mobile device, but if you’re using social media for business, it’s likely that you also want to use either a Mac or PC as well.

Instagram is available on these devices, and you can now use Instagram direct messages on the web version as well, so we’re going to quickly show you how you can do that.

Step 1 — Access Instagram Direct Messages

The first thing you need to do is navigate to Instagram.com and log in on your computer. You’ll then go to your feed, seeing posts and stories from the accounts you follow. In the top right corner, next to the home icon, you’ll see the chat bubble icon

Instagram Direct Messages

Step 2 — Choose an Account to Manage

Click the chat bubble icon and you’ll end up in your direct messages. You will see all of your previous conversations here. If you want to chat with an account you’ve already messaged, you can scroll through and find it.

If you don’t want to scroll, or you want to send a new message to a user you haven’t contacted, you can use the blue Send Message button that appears on the right of the screen.

A window will appear with a search box and also suggested accounts. Find the user you want to send a message to and click Next

Send Message

Step 3 — Compose Your Message

Now, you can simply compose your message. There’s a bar at the bottom of the screen for you to type in your desired message.

You can add any images or files into the DM as well, and you can also use the smiley icon on the left to insert emojis into the message. The heart on the far right will send a heart into the chat.

Compose Your Message

After you’ve created the message to your liking, simply push Return or Enter on your keyboard, and your message will be delivered.

If you sent your message before you were ready, you can unsend it by clicking the three dots that appear next to the message. Don’t do this too frequently though; your recipient may receive a notification of a message and then wonder why nothing is there.

Final Thoughts: The Potential of Instagram Direct Messages for Business

Instagram direct messages can be used as a strong and effective marketing tactic that allows you to build relationships with your target audience. The key here, though, is personalization.

People don’t want to receive generic messages that don’t address them on an individual level. Doing so can actually hurt your reputation and make your account look spammy.

Practice now— go over to your Instagram account and see if you have any messages. Consider every interaction to be a very important one and give your followers and leads the time they deserve.

When you respond to DMs on Instagram, it’s a great way to network and build a relationship with your followers. Don’t miss out!

Instagram Viewer: The Top 10 Tools Reviewed by Experts

People are very concerned with their data and privacy today; with so many different sites having our personal information, it’s worrisome for many people. If you are looking for the best way to get Instagram followers and do market research, you should use an Instagram viewer app.

Using an Instagram viewer allows you to check out leads and potential clients without having to send a follow request, gaining useful information while remaining anonymous.

In this post, we’ll talk more about what an Instagram reviewer can do for you and which ones are most popular.

What is an Instagram Viewer?

Instagram is incredibly popular, and users are always looking for ways to attract attention from their content. Posts, Reels, IG Stories, and videos that get a lot of engagement are valuable for you— you can study those and see what elements helped it to perform well.

If you also want to review your audience and check out their individual Instagram accounts without being seen, an Instagram viewer can help.

Ann Instagram viewer is an app that provides viewing access to private accounts without sending a follow request; you can also view public accounts as you normally would. After all, you don’t want to follow a bunch of users simply to see their content and then have to unfollow later.

You can avoid this by using an Instagram viewer, which will help you to strengthen your Instagram strategy and get more followers.

The tools work based on the Instagram API (Application Programming Interface), allowing programmers to create third-party apps that IG users can take advantage of to view pics, comments, tags, likes, and other relevant IG info.

The app pulls the information from Instagram and creates a searchable database for its users. It doesn’t disclose any sensitive or private information, but you can find the details from people’s profiles without following.

In addition, you can view users’ Instagram stories without them knowing and gain insight for your own Instagram marketing.

Why and When to Use an Instagram Viewer

There is a range of reasons why you may want to view Instagram anonymously. One big reason is to do research on a potential employee or business partner. This helps to ensure the partnership is a good fit.

You can find out more information about any brand or business by monitoring their Instagram stories— feeds are good too, but IG stories provides a more real-time update with more personal information since it disappears after 24 hours.

When you use an IG viewer, you also don’t have to worry about accidentally liking a post or a post comment by mistake. You can browse Instagram anonymously and enjoy Instagram without any accidents; it’s completely legal, simple, and safe.

3. StoriesDown

Another free Instagram viewer tool, StoriesDown works very similarly to others we’ve discussed so far. You can enter any Instagram username and StoriesDown will retrieve all of the data, including recent posts and any active stories the account hass.

It only works on public accounts, so if the profile is private, none of the information will be available. When you click on the stories tab after typing in the username, you’ll also be able to download that story.

You can also find out when the story was downloaded; it’s completely free, no account required, and anonymous.

4. Instaxyz

A fast, free, and secure tool, Instaxyz is a great option as an Instagram viewer. It’s completely secure and you can check all Instagram accounts, hashtags, and view all media, stats, and comments.

The site is very simple and straightforward; you can type in the tag or username at the top of the screen or in the middle of the page. You’ll also see a list of popular tags and IG users; this helps if you’re not sure about what you want to monitor or want to see what are some common statistics.

You can also use the hashtag list to understand trending hashtags and which ones you can use on your content so that your brand stays relevant.

5. IGLookup

IGLookup is an Instagram viewer that allows you to check out not only public Instagram accounts but also private ones. It has a simple and straightforward interface and you don’t have to submit a request to view the content.

The tool is legal, secure, and safe; it’s also very easy to use. You don’t have to download any software to use IGLookup, which is great.

IGLookup indicates that users want to “spy” on accounts; while it’s true that they want to review information without being seen, it’s probable that the accounts are looking to find out information for business purposes and nothing necessarily bad.

It’s especially good for private account viewing because it’s inconvenient to have to follow users and then unfollow them later.

6. Gramho

An Instagram analyzer and viewer, Gramho offers many possibilities. You can analyze your own account and compare it to other accounts, predict likes and followers on your new content, as well as browse profiles anonymously.

You can look for Instagram profiles, hashtags, posts, followers, stories, and locations. It looks very user-friendly and is also free to use.

The analytics that Gramho provides are very useful, especially in terms of seeing the popularity of competing accounts. There are no limits to how much you can use this tool, so check out Gramho to get a better idea about your profile as well as check out content anonymously on Instagram.

7. Fullinsta

If you want yet another way to view any Instagram profile, video, or photo without logging into Instagram is to use Fullinsta.photo. Fullinsta offers a nicely-created website that is user friendly and also shows users that are trending right there on the main page.

You can use Fullinsta to browse Instagram as a guest so that you don’t have to deal with logging in or accidentally liking content. It’s a web-based Instagram profile viewer that uses the Instagram API to show the content from Instagram.

Fullinsta is safe and secure for use, even though it’s not officially sponsored by Instagram; none of these web viewers are associated with Instagram, in fact— they all simply use the API to provide the content.

Once you’re on the landing page of Fullinsta, you can choose a trending account or you can simply type in the username you want to view. Fullinsta easy and convenient to check out any Instagram account.

8. Ingramer

Ingramer Story viewer

Ingramer provides an Instagram viewer app, Instagram story viewer, and Instagram photo downloader. It’s free and can be used as many times as you want. You can view all activity from public Instagram accounts by just typing in the username.

You don’t have to sign up or sign in to view content, and you can view content from users who blocked you. You can save the IG stories directly with just a click.

In addition, you can use Ingramer’s Story Viewer for Instagram to track every story a monitored user uploads for a fee. You’ll be able to monitor 3 profiles for $3 a month, 10 profiles for $9 a month, or 100 profiles for $49 a month.

Finally, you can also download Instagram photos and videos from public IG accounts using Ingramer; the images will be saved with their original quality.

9. InstaDP

A free web tool that has many enjoyable features, InstaDP is a fan favorite. You can view Instagram Reels, Instagram posts, and Instagram stories + downloader.

If you want to see a post in full size, you can do this with InstaDP. You can zoom in on the profile picture to see it in its original size. This is great if you’re trying to figure out who someone is; IG profile pictures are usually too small to do this.

You can use this web tool on your mobile device as well. It’s incredibly simple to download any Instagram stories with InstaDP as well, and they allow you to create a collection of all of the stories and posts that you like, which is like a Pinterest board.

These collections are completely private, so no one will see them and Instagram users will not be notified if you add their content to your collection.

10. Watchinsta

Last but not least, the Instagram profile viewer tool Watchinsta lets its users view pictures and videos of any Instagram profile very quickly. It has a lot of features available on the site and also has a FAQ for any user that needs help.

On its website, Watchinsta says you can:

  • View private photos of almost everyone
  • Browse private media
  • Export them
  • Recover files and messages
  • View any Instagram account without logging in
  • Check for new updates

The cool feature is to export the private media in a .zip file and you can recover files and messages. The app checks for auto updates and the developers are always checking and updating the Instagram profile viewer.

Use Instagram Viewer tools to view Instagram Anonymously.

Instagram has many different features in place to protect user privacy, which is great. If you want to view Instagram on an anonymous level, you can always use an Instagram viewer to help you do exactly that, especially if you want to create some new strategies and observe private accounts. You’ll have access to more content and still respect people’s sensitive details.

You can even download stories to reference later and remember what elements you want to include in your content strategy.

You can then make an informed decision about what will work for your Instagram profile and which one will provide best results.

1. Growthoid

Growthoid offers its clients the best in Instagram growth, providing a service that gets real, organic Instagram followers through engagements with users in your target audience. You’re provided a dedicated account manager that will take control of your account and perpetuate the engagements on your behalf.

What’s more, you also get a dashboard to monitor your progress and the account managers and support team are there to help you every step of the way. With flexible service on a monthly basis, no contracts, and organic engagement, Growthoid offers a transparent service for Instagram follower growth.

The Standard plan starts at $49/mo and the Premium plan is $99/mo., so you can decide just how much support and customization you need.

2. Growthsilo

Growthsilo will provide you with an expert account manager to help with your Instagram follower growth. This account manager will engage with users that fall within the instructions you provide them, and they offer some very advanced targeting options.

You’ll be able to target based on things like username, location, age, gender, and more. It’s similar to Growthoid in that there are no bots or fake followers involved, just real people working to save you time and get more Instagram followers for your profile.

Growthsilo has monthly plan options that are between $49 and $99 per month, which is pretty standard pricing for most growth services.

3. More Likes

More Likes

More Likes has two service options that may be of interest: one to help get more organic Instagram followers and one to help get more engagement on all posts.

More Likes has two separate recurring service options; if you want more real Instagram followers, you can select your plan and they will help you to generate interest in your account through engagements.

Another service that they offer is Instagram auto-likes for your posts. Every time you post, you will receive a set quantity of likes that are provided by the users in their in-house network, so you’re gaining real likes as soon as your content is posted.

Because follower growth and engagement are both so important, this service is perfect for those looking for a consistent and overall solid strategy for their Instagram.

4. Upleap

Upleap used to provide users with an account manager that would help manage their Instagram growth and grow Instagram followers, but they’ve changed the functionality of their service and now they offer the delivery of followers instantly.

They will provide you with quick follower growth that they guarantee and have rave reviews about. You can select the quantity and after your order is processed, you will see your followers be delivered to your account.

You can buy anywhere from 100 to 1000 Instagram followers from Upleap, so it all depends on what your needs are when you use their services.

5. Jarvee

Jarvee is a windows-based Instagram growth service that works based on automation. You download software that will help you automate all of your Instagram engagements and interactions so that you can get more Instagram followers.

You will be able to automate a variety of tasks, including follow/unfollow, auto-repost, auto-like, and DM management. You can also schedule your Instagram posts, target your audience, and access premium customer support.

Social Meep has an eye-catching website with a lot of interesting features, but they don’t discuss much about how they provide these things, which leaves a bit to be desired, even though there are extensive descriptions of the services in a general sense. All in all, their website is professional.

Their pricing follows the industry standard of $49 for basic and $99 for pro.

7. SimplyGram

SimplyGram makes a promise of 5,000 new Instagram followers on a monthly basis through a method that people call the mother/child method of Instagram growth.

What SimplyGram does is they set up between 25-100 Instagram accounts that represent your brand. Once that’s done, those accounts will DM hundreds of Instagram users every day to ask them about checking out your main profile.

This tactic appears spammy to the receivers of DMs, depending on what the messages say. The good thing is that SimplyGram uses targeting and algorithmic planning to interact with demographics that are likely to follow or check out your profile.

There are plans for SimplyGram ranging from $69 to $199 on a weekly basis.

8. Combin

Combin has two separate plans available for Instagram— Growth, and Scheduler. The Instagram scheduler will allow you to view, schedule, and auto-post your content, while the Growth side will help you get more Instagram followers.

The whole premise around Combin is that they help you engage with the profiles that you want to engage with at the rate of normal engagement. You’ll be able to target certain users, leave comments that you create and Combin cycles through, as well as save searches that you’ve previously done.

They offer a free trial as well as plans for $15 and $30/month, respectively.

9. Mr. Insta

Mr. Insta

10. Social Buddy

Social Buddy

Social Buddy’s service promises their clients real followers, not bots or fake profiles. They will use the information you share to target different elements like niche, competitors, and hashtags. Social Buddy will then encourage these users to visit your profile and follow you.

In addition, they’ll target influencers and people following your competitors to gain relevant followers for your Instagram. Social Buddy’s services will run you $99/mo.

11. Ampfluence

Ampfluence is a more comprehensive Instagram growth solution for those with a higher monthly budget. They will begin with a consultation to understand your audience and particular needs; they’ll then research your industry and get started on engagement to grow your followers for Instagram.

There are three plans: Engagement, which is $129/mo, Growth, which is $199/mo (includes hashtag research/reporting), and Growth x2 coming in at $299/mo with support and custom reporting.

To give you an idea, Growth averages about 250+ organic followers, with Growth x2 doubling that on a monthly basis.

12. Social Sensei

Social Sensei

Social Sensei takes a different Instagram marketing strategy and they use micro influencers and celebrities to sponsor your content and get you more followers. They use loop giveaways that include many different profiles that buy into contests that require entries to follow new accounts.

They claim that you can gain thousands of followers within days of the giveaway going live. The plans range from $299-$999 per month with follower guarantees depending on the price point. If you don’t get the followers, Social Sensei will continue working with no additional charge until you reach the promised follower amount.

The plans from Firing Table range from $29.95/week – $79.95/week.

14. ViralRace

You can also choose the followers and engagements to be delivered immediately or more naturally over a period. The price depends on how many followers or engagements you want; they are some of the cheapest packages out there.

15. Instazood

A fun name and an interesting service offering, Instazood works to grow your Instagram account with a dashboard and different engagements. You’ll set your targets via the dashboard and their bot will begin to engage with accounts that fall into those parameters.

Targeting options include hashtags, location, similar accounts, and a few more. If you prefer, you can also buy packaged Instagram followers through the service to help you get a quick boost, although results will be minimal through this type of strategy.

The Instagram bot costs roughly $15/mo and the pricing varies if you’re buying packages in bulk.

17. Buzzoid

A growth platform that promises followers and likes in minutes, Buzzoid is a company that can help you to get a variety of Instagram engagements. They deliver your order within an hour of purchase or will give you your money back.

They don’t offer any details on how they provide these Instagram followers and engagements, but you can choose packages based on your needs and can even get up to 5,000 Instagram followers through their services.

18. Nitreo

Nitreo is a platform that will work to gain you organic Instagram followers for your profile. Nitreo will access your platform and after you specify your niche, Nitreo will work continuously through automation to provide you with Instagram followers.

They use methods like follow/unfollow, Instagram story views, and more. The main plan runs $49/mo with the Speed plan at $79/mo.

19. AiGrow

AiGrow, as the name suggests, is an automation-based service that uses artificial intelligence to get you more Instagram followers. AiGrow uses a mix of liking and follow/unfollow to interact with Instagram users in your target audience.

You can target users based on hashtags, locations, and followed accounts, as well as control the interaction speed of AiGrow.

20. Skweezer

Another fun name for Instagram followers, Skweezer allows you to buy Instagram followers, likes, and comments. The followers that Skweezer provides are said to come from within a network that Skweezer pays users to be a part of, allowing you to get real, risk-free Instagram followers.

Choose the package you want to buy, complete your purchase, and your order will be on your way. The pricing for Skeezer depends on the engagement and the quantity that you want to order.

21. Socialfollow

Through Socialfollow, you’ll gain access to a network of similar users, and you follow each other based on the selected interests at the time of sign up. You have to be an active participant in following here, but they claim you’ll get more followers than you take on.

If you follow 10 people, for instance, you’ll get 50 followers in return. Socialfollow users are said to gain up to 1,500 new Instagram followers monthly with zero cost involved at any point. You have to download software to use the service, which seems a bit odd.

Instagram Growth Service: The Good, the Bad, and the Avoidable

Instagram Growth

The principal goal of an Instagram growth service is to help its clients get more Instagram followers. This is not news.

However, the method that the Instagram growth service uses to gain those followers is of primary concern; it’s also important to know what kind of followers you will gain and what to expect from those followers in terms of engagement.

A top Instagram growth service will provide its clients with real Instagram followers that they obtain through organic Instagram growth strategies. After all, nobody just wants a hollow Instagram follower count with users that don’t engage at all.

When an Instagram growth service isn’t serious about providing quality, you run the risk of your Instagram account coming off as spammy and salesy, which will likely turn off potential followers and can hurt your reputation in the long run.

In addition, if you go with a growth service that doesn’t use organic strategies, you can even be banned or disabled by Instagram for violation of community guidelines.

The main goal should be to work with a growth service that will engage with the right users in order to promote more organic Instagram engagement and even more business results such as lead generation and conversion.

Follower growth is the main goal, but a true Instagram growth service should also:

  1. Save you time: you won’t be doing any engaging with users on Instagram to gain more followers— they’ll take over that for you, giving you hours of your time back to focus on other important tasks.
  2. Improve engagement rate: Instagram’s algorithm is based mainly on engagement, so the more user engagement you get on your content, the more reach you will have. This is also vital if you are looking to gain brand sponsorships or ambassador spots.
  3. Boost your social cred: your follower count will grow, and this will help you to have more authority in your specific niche on Instagram, building your reputation and giving you more opportunities in the way of sales, collabs, and features.
  4. Increase sales: in addition to a stronger reputation, if you’re a brand looking to boost real-world results, you should also be getting relevant followers for your Instagram page that will actually be interested in your products. When these users see your content, they’ll be more likely to engage and take action.
  5. Boost client satisfaction: this mainly applies for social media managers or marketing teams, but when you work to grow your client’s Instagram account, you can provide them with better results when you use a solid Instagram growth service.

There will be little room for doubt when you work with the right Instagram growth service; they’ll be able to provide these results and then some.

The next section will focus on the qualities you should look for when determining whether or not an Instagram growth service is reputable enough to provide you with the results you need.

The following 8 elements will help you make the decision when looking for the best Instagram growth service in 2021.

1. Use an Instagram Growth Service that Provides REAL Followers

Social Media

It goes without saying, really, but you have to work with an Instagram growth service that will provide you with real followers. Shady Instagram marketing companies have a bad reputation for providing ghost followers— users that are fake or bots that don’t engage at all.

You have to think carefully about what type of followers you’ll gain and the type of accounts that will begin following you. You need real growth and you need more engagement. Ghost followers won’t bring you that, let alone visit your website, buy your product, or share your content.

You want a growth service that has your best interest in mind, helping you get real Instagram followers, in turn boosting your business results.

Avoid These Three Types of Instagram Growth Services

There are three serious red flags that you should keep an eye out for when deciding on an Instagram growth service:

  1. Guarantee of a follower quantity
  2. Preloaded accounts with thousands of followers already there
  3. Services that want you to buy Instagram followers in bulk

Let’s expand on those red flags so that you can identify them in the real world.

“Guaranteed” Number of Followers

The dead giveaway that an Instagram growth service isn’t legit is if they offer you a set number of Instagram followers. If this is the case, run the other way and don’t look back— there’s nothing for you there.

If you are using a true organic Instagram growth service, the user decides to follow you; the Instagram growth service solely makes the connection. There’s no way that they can promise a set number of real Instagram followers. They don’t control people.

It seems like common sense, but many people really want to believe them and put their faith in them. This is how they stay in business. If you do find that they meet a specific number of followers each month and it’s always exactly the same, it’s likely they are sending you ghost followers.

Preloaded Accounts

Another common way to gain more Instagram followers is to buy an Instagram account that already has thousands of followers when you acquire it. Sounds great, but not so fast.

Let’s assume first that these are real followers. What likely happened is that someone built up the account and then sold it, leaving the followers there. You’ll acquire the account and start to post your content, but are those followers guaranteed to actually be interested in it?

Absolutely not. They’ll likely be very disengaged or even stop following you altogether.

Let’s say that the account was just loaded up with fake followers that are passed off as real ones; if this is the case, you’ll still get no engagement and you’ll likely lose those followers because Instagram clears them out.

Don’t waste time on this type of deal— it’s not likely to pan out and you’ll just be throwing away your investment.

Buying Instagram Followers in Packages

Last but not least, there are plenty of companies out there that claim to send you real Instagram followers in bulk.

If this were really the case, wouldn’t everyone be doing it? There are two possibilities here:

  • They send real accounts that have no interest in your content and your engagement tanks
  • You get a bunch of fake followers that will eventually fall off of your account and tank your engagement as well

Either way, your engagement tanks— they want you to buy a bunch of fake engagement from the same company that sold you the fake followers. This is just a cyclical trap that you get stuck in, so don’t go for it.

It can be tempting to go for such a shortcut when it comes to getting more Instagram followers, but at the end of the day, quality is much more important than quantity. It’s better to have 200 real Instagram followers than 2,000 fake ones with only a handful of likes on your posts.

It will also throw off your analytics so you can’t understand your audience nor how your content is truly performing with your real followers. No good.

Finding a Good Instagram Growth Service

So, now that we know what not to look for, what should we be looking for when you need an Instagram marketing service?

There are some key things you want to find:

  • Work with a company that explicitly mentions organic Instagram growth. These companies understand that natural methods of engagement and interaction can help draw the right followers to your account. This requires you to do your part by posting attractive content and using the right targeting instructions so that they can find the users that will most benefit you.
  • Look for companies that mention real Instagram followers. You don’t want any ghost followers messing up your profile and then falling off over time. No matter if you have 10 or 10,000, you won’t see any improvement with fake followers.
  • Only work with companies that actually explain how the service works. Buzzwords are everywhere online these days, and companies know how to sell their services without telling you a single thing about how they work. Make sure you understand exactly what the service will provide you and how it’s going to happen.

You want to work with an Instagram growth service that is transparent about their operation, so let’s talk more about how the service should work in the next section.

2. Carefully Examine the Methods that the Instagram Growth Service Uses

Instagram growth services employ a particular tactic for growing your Instagram followers organically. There are a variety of ways that this can be done, including liking photos from users in your target audience, following said users, sending auto DMs or auto commenting, viewing relevant users’ stories, among others.

There are benefits and downsides to each of the methods, and we’re going to take a look at them a bit more closely to better understand how they might relate to your own Instagram goals.

The Likes Method

Instagram Likes

By far the most common method, most Instagram marketing services will work to get you more followers by liking the content of users that fit within your target audience. It’s the most effective and safest method of Instagram growth.

If you’re working with an organic Instagram service, they’re likely to use this method to help you get more real Instagram followers.

You want to ensure that you understand what the range of action is as well so that you know exactly what the service is going to be doing in your name.

There should be enough engagements happening so that you can see results, but not so many that your Instagram gets flagged for suspicious or irregular activity.

Instagram sets engagement limits on each individual Instagram account; these limits are not disclosed, so it’s important that the growth service only takes action that would be similar to the action of the user.

Liking content of Instagram users is very simple and gets you noticed by potential followers, not invading their space or coming off as incredibly spammy. With that, it does deliver slower growth, but this is still the best way to grow your Instagram followers.

It’s also much better to delegate this work to an Instagram growth service instead of doing it all yourself, as it’s incredibly tedious and takes a lot of your precious time. To grow your Instagram, it takes a lot of time, dedication, patience, and persistence.

The Follow/Unfollow Method

Another method that tends to be successful in growing Instagram followers is the follow/unfollow method. Users see that you followed them, are likely to check you out, and return the favor if they like what they see.

This method requires good targeting; otherwise, you’re not likely to see results as accounts will have no interest in following your particular profile.

Some problems with follow/unfollow: you are likely to lose followers with follow/unfollow. It’s common that many people follow your account initially, and then they unfollow you after a few days.

A second potential problem is that they don’t interact with your content; since you followed their account, they may have simply followed you back out of obligation.

Finally, when you use follow/unfollow, you get placed on Instagram radar because it’s a well-known Instagram growth tactic that is, quite frankly, pretty obvious. It’s better to use more organic engagements such as liking content, as this is a common action that people do all the time on Instagram, and not just to gain followers.

The Auto-Comment or Auto-DM Method

Social Media

The final method, auto-comments or auto-DMs, probably sits in the middle of both liking and follow/unfollow in terms of results, but is by far the riskiest and inauthentic way to gain more Instagram followers.

It can severely damage your reputation due to the spammy nature of these interactions, leaving a bad taste in many users’ mouths. Instagram is also likely to block or ban your account functions due to suspicious or bot-like activity.

Auto-commenting for Instagram follower growth is particularly bad because not only will the user see your interaction, but also all of their followers. If you leave an irrelevant or even insensitive auto-comment on a post, it makes you look bad.

Nothing worse than seeing a “so cute! I love it!” on a post that’s meant to be somber or serious.

Likewise, automatic direct messages for Instagram follower growth is just as bad; people don’t enjoy receiving a bunch of spam messages, especially when a direct message is a more personal and intimate way of reaching someone.

Both of these tactics are too spammy and generic for anyone to take you seriously, so even if you have the best intentions, the user will likely write you off on principle.

If you work with a serious Instagram growth service, they won’t be implementing auto-DM or auto-comments.

3. Determine the Extent of Targeting Options the Instagram Growth Service Provides

When choosing an Instagram growth service, one of your main concerns should be what type of users they engage with and what followers you’ll be receiving. This is done through targeting instructions, so you need to know how the IG growth company targets the right users.

If the company doesn’t target users according to your brand and specific instructions, you’re unlikely to see growth that will benefit your engagement and real results. Getting followers is great, but when they don’t care about your brand and don’t engage, they’re basically useless.

Some less professional Instagram growth companies will simply interact with any type of account out there; this is not what you want!

You want to ensure that the Instagram growth company that you work with focuses on your specific targeting instructions and brings in users who fall within certain parameters; it makes zero sense to engage with anyone outside of your target audience.

For example, if I’m a brand of women’s clothing that targets women in my local area between 15-35, it makes no sense to market to teenage boys or men in other countries. I need my local, target demographic to take notice.

You need to have a wide range of targeting options to get the attention of the right users, so the best services will allow you to target through elements like:

  • Location
  • Age
  • Hashtag
  • Accounts

Some growth services will even help you understand how to target effectively and how you can get the most from their service. If something isn’t working or you need help, you can contact their support team or your account manager and they’ll give you some guidance.

4. Pay Close Attention to the Filtering Options Provided by the Instagram Growth Service

You want to have solid targeting options, but you also want to ensure that you aren’t engaging with the wrong users.

It’s difficult to prevent even the top Instagram growth services from reaching users that aren’t in your target audience, which can lead to you engaging with accounts that aren’t related to your content.

Some Instagram growth services offer blacklist features, meaning they won’t engage with certain accounts. Some of those filters include:

  • Ignore private accounts
  • Ignore inactive accounts
  • Ignore new accounts
  • Profanity filter
  • Ignore suspicious accounts
  • Gender filter
  • Business account filter
  • Username filter
  • Foreign language filter

It’s good to know how you can avoid following or engaging with certain users on Instagram.

5. Be Aware of the Service Dashboard

There are some Instagram growth services that don’t offer a dashboard, and most of them that provide top results will offer you some way to check up on your results and see what’s going on with your Instagram growth.

Some dashboards will also allow you to change up your targets and make sure that you’re reaching the right audience; you’ll have full control over that.

Even if there is no dashboard, that doesn’t mean the service is a total bust— some services offer account managers that do things like this for you; you can be in contact with them and they will provide you with additional analytics on how your growth is going.

It is convenient, however, to be able to view the information yourself visually.

6. Evaluate Level of Customer Support Provided by the Growth Service

Because Instagram is quite strict and finicky with how accounts engage, you want to make sure that you have an Instagram growth service with good support. You really need to be able to get a hold of someone if you find that some element isn’t working quite right.

These are some thigns you should look for in terms of Instagram growth support teams:

  • FAQ readily available and detailed on their website
  • Live Chat
  • Dedicated customer support team
  • Support videos

7. Weigh Pricing and Quality

Pricing and Quality

The final thing you should consider is how much your budget allows for and how much you can actually pay. In addition, you want to consider the price versus the value.

As you can see from this list, there is a wide range of price points, going from as low as $5 all the way up to $999+ per month. You want to keep your specific goals in mind as you decide which service to use.

Are you looking to get real Instagram followers? Remember the expression— you get what you pay for. Does that mean you have to buy the most expensive package? No. But you should look at the details of the service and ensure that you get enough value to reach your goals.

Look for Instagram growth services that provide multiple pricing tiers so you can choose the level of support that you need with a plan that meets your budget.

Final Thoughts: What is the Best Instagram Growth Service in 2021?

How much do you care about the quality of your Instagram followers? This is the main question that can determine the “best” Instagram growth service out there.

If you want real followers that can help you grow your account and are serious about Instagram marketing, you want to continuously grow with an organic Instagram growth service like Growthoid.

It’s invaluable to have an expert working for you and using your specific targeting instructions to deliver the best results possible. Automation hasn’t worked for years, so using a manual service is the best way to go.

Growthoid is the best Instagram growth service on the market in 2021.

A List Of Banned Hashtags You Should Avoid In 2021

Hashtags have been the main tool for making content discoverable on social media since their introduction on Twitter in 2007. They help to categorize content into feeds that makes the content more accessible based on user desires.

On Instagram, hashtags are more important than ever in terms of getting your content out to new viewers and attracting more followers for your account. You should create a hashtag strategy that produces results and helps with your Instagram growth.

In order to do so, you have to understand which hashtags are trending, which ones work best in your niche, and which tags are likely to bring in overly general viewers. You also have to be wary of using banned hashtags.

Banned hashtags can completely throw off your Instagram strategy and diminish your results. If you’ve been working on producing awesome content but notice you’re not getting the growth you’re looking for, you may be using banned hashtags without even knowing it.

Instagram has the power to ban different hashtags; while you can still use them on your content, the feed will be completely erased, meaning that no content with that hashtag will appear in the feed.

If you’re ready to find out more information about how to avoid banned hashtags and what you should do to create a solid hashtag strategy, you’ve come to the right place! In this article, we’ll help you understand all things hashtags.

What are Banned Hashtags on Instagram?

Banned hashtags are the hashtags that have been reported by Instagram users due to the fact that the posts included in the feed commonly go against Instagram’s community guidelines or terms of use.

Instagram identifies hashtags which commonly have inappropriate or unsavory content and then hide all of the content that uses the hashtag; no hashtags will appear in the hashtag feed.

Banned hashtags aren’t something that remains the same at all times— they are constantly changing and being updated based on the investigations that Instagram does into the tags and posts. Instagram doesn’t officially announce these banned hashtags, but we’ve done the work to find out exactly which ones they are.

Why are Hashtags Banned on Instagram?

We’re going to take a closer look at why Instagram decides to ban hashtags in the first place so that we can understand the hashtags that will appear on our list. The user experience on Instagram is the primary reason.

Instagram allows its users to flag or report content so that the community can remain safe and the user experience intact. When a user reports or flags content that they find to be inappropriate, Instagram will conduct a review of the content and see what posts are using what hashtags.

When Instagram decides that the hashtag has played a role in delivering content that isn’t appropriate, Instagram makes the decision to ban the hashtag and remove all content associated with it.

What does it mean if a hashtag is banned, really?

The hashtag is still available on Instagram and can still be used in posts; it can even still be searched for. When you search the hashtag, you can tap on it, but when you arrive at the hashtag feed, all posts will be hidden

Instagram displays the message: “Recent posts from #bannedhashtag are currently hidden because the community has reported some content that may not meet Instagram’s community guidelines.”

This effectively removes all recent content using the hashtag and making it undiscoverable without the original poster knowing it.

It’s very strange in some cases, because the banned hashtag seems to be harmless enough; users may add it to their content without even considering that it could be banned in the first place.

For instance, #beautyblogger is on the list of banned hashtags, but #beautybloggers isn’t. See that? Very unsuspecting.

We don’t want you to waste any more time or energy using hashtags that are banned. Your content should get the reach and exposure it deserves! We’re now going to get into our banned hashtag guide so that you can avoid using these tags, remove any of them if you have been using them, and keep your content visible and free of being flagged or banned through hashtag association.

We hope that you enjoyed our most recent update for banned hashtags on Instagram. Keep in mind that these could change on a regular basis, but most of the hashtags on this list have been banned for a while and will likely remain that way.

If you are worried about your hashtag strategy and need some more tips to help, we’ve got some great ones coming your way in the following sections.

What if I Think a Hashtag is Banned?

The bad news is that Instagram has never released a list of banned hashtags and will probably refrain from doing so in the future, so there’s no definitive space to check online and find the most recent updates.

There are a few things you can do, however, if you want to confirm that the hashtag you’re trying to use remains free and unbanned.

When you are preparing to use a hashtag and have a feeling that it might be banned, one of the best ways to find out is to search Instagram yourself.

Search the hashtag you want to use in the search bar, and hit tags. It will show a list of tags, and you can tap on your desired hashtag to see the status. If you see the posts, both top and recent, the hashtag is good to go.

If you see the message that we listed earlier about “posts hidden” on the hashtag page, you know that the hashtag is banned and that you shouldn’t use it.

You should also check to see both the top and recent tabs as we mentioned above; if there are supposedly a lot of posts using the tag but many don’t appear, the hashtag was hidden in the past and all of the other posts were hidden.

Also, if you don’t see your post appear in the hashtag feed even after posting, it’s probably because the hashtag is still blocked or banned.

The last thing you want to do when reviewing your hashtags is to look closely at all of the content that is posted using your desired hashtag. Do you want this content to appear next to your own in the hashtag feed?

Do you feel comfortable being associated with the other content using that hashtag, and do the followers and viewers checking out the tag likely represent your target audience?

You should answer yes to all of these questions; if not, time for a new Instagram hashtag strategy.

How To Avoid Using Banned Instagram Hashtags

Banned Instagram Hashtags

While it can be frustrating to know some hashtags out there, seemingly harmless, are banned, there are plenty of different tactics you can use for your Instagram hashtag game that will help you get your content out to more people.

When you follow our tips, you can start to identify hashtags that will provide value for your content and reach more people in your target audience, helping you in terms of Instagram follower growth, which is the ultimate goal.

Adjust the Banned Hashtag

After checking out our list, it seems almost unbelievable that hashtags such as #alone and #beautyblogger are banned! It’s quite a shame, since users of Instagram that want to leverage the power of this hashtag with no malintents have no possibility to do so.

Even still, you don’t have to throw them out completely— you can adjust the hashtag and create a modification that will still get your content seen by your target audience.

For example, if you use the hashtag #alone, you could include what you’re doing with it, like #eatingalone or #lunchalone. That way, you won’t get blocked.

Same with #beautyblogger; if you add an ‘s’ the tag isn’t banned, so #beautybloggers will work.

You can still use your desired hashtag when you modify them just a bit and your content will get more reach that way without being banned.

Use Niche-Specific Tags

When you use hashtags that are specific to your particular niche or even location, you’re likely to get better reach and get more Instagram followers and views from people within your target audience.

Also, niche-specific hashtags aren’t as likely to be banned as generic ones, so they’re typically safer for use and will provide better results for your content, anyway.

Create Your Own Hashtags

Don’t like any of the hashtags out there? Sick of using the ones you’ve already set aside for yourself? Break the mold and create your own!

When you use your own hashtag or create one that’s relevant to your brand, you can avoid branded hashtags altogether. You also create a central feed that users can search for and view when they want to know more about your brand.

A popular tactic is to list your #brandedhashtag in your bio and encourage users to tag it in their content posts for a feature on your page. That way, your hashtag feed will be full of posts from other users, building your credibility and reputation.

You can also feature this as content on your account, which is great news because user-generated content gets more engagement on Instagram than other types of posts in general.

Establish a Set of Go-To Hashtags

One of the best things you can do for yourself is to create a go-to hashtag stockpile that will always be there for you no matter what.

It’s likely that you’ll have a variety of different content and you may want to change up your hashtags a bit now and then, but identifying a solid set of, say, 10 hashtags for your content will help you save time and keep your content in hashtag feeds in the long term.

Monitor your performance and make sure that these hashtags are delivering results. It’s a good idea to test them out for about two weeks and make tweaks as you see fit.

Be Knowledgeable about Your Hashtag Performance

Social media isn’t something casual that just “happens;” you have to have intention and purpose as well as understand the results of the content that you post.

If you haven’t done so already, make sure that your account is set up as a professional account, either business or creator. You’ll then have access to a few different features, including Instagram analytics, called Instagram insights.

Instagram insights is an Instagram-based performance tracker that gives you a bunch of different performance metrics about your content, including the reach, impressions, engagements, actions taken, as well as details about your target audience.

You should note the hashtags you use on your best performing posts and keep track of what type of content you included in posts that do better than your other content.

If you think a hashtag isn’t performing well, do a few tests; post similar content a few times and use that hashtag a variety of times to see if it’s really not doing well or if it was just a fluke.

Don’t forget that content has a big impact on performance and analytics, so you should be sure to use very similar pieces of content when testing out hashtags so the content doesn’t become a factor in why it didn’t perform well.

You can also use a third party Instagram analytics program if you feel that you can’t manage or track your content well enough via Instagram insights. Iconosquare, Union Metrics, as well as Agorapulse are all popular options that provide reports and accessible data with actionable goals to help boost your performance.

Follow Trending Hashtags

Since Instagram is a platform of trends, just like other social media networks, a surefire way to use hashtags that are kosher and not banned is to stay up-to-date with popular and trending hashtags on Instagram.

You will keep your content and your captions relevant that way, and you’ll also be less likely to use a banned hashtag because the topic is trending on Instagram. These topics and hashtags are bound to have a solid hashtag feed.

What’s more, hashtag challenges are becoming more and more popular on pretty much all social networks, so you should definitely take advantage of them when they’re relevant to your content.

You can even create content that fits with the hashtag so that your content shows creativity and also connects to current events and trending challenges.

Use a Hashtag Tool

There are plenty of third party hashtag tools available to help you get more reach for your content and use the right hashtags. They can provide you with hashtag searches, performance metrics, hashtag generation, and more.

You can find an expansive selection of Instagram hashtag tools in the market these days, all offering similar features to help you identify the perfect hashtags for your content and even organize them into sets for easy posting.

These services can be incredibly helpful if you feel like your hashtag strategy isn’t working or you have no ideas; you can find both free and paid tools available.

Conclusion: Why You Need Hashtags on Instagram

Even though you may be worried about using a banned hashtag, you can take steps to make sure that you avoid them. You should definitely still keep using hashtags and make sure that you do your research if you have a feeling that a tag might be banned.

Here are three final ways that hashtags can help you; they are benefits that you may not have considered:

  • Learn more about your target audience: One of the best things you can do is to search the hashtag feed and look at the content in them; see what type of users are liking that content and engaging with it. You will then know more about your target audience, what type of content they’re checking out, and how to create content and captions that will get their attention.
  • Build Your Reputation: Using a branded hashtag can help generate interest in your brand and encourage your followers to tag it in their content, creating a user-generated feed of photos related to your brand or business. This helps you to have more authority and credibility in your niche. You can also promote more content reach in other hashtag feeds, even potentially landing you in the top section of the hashtag feed. This will give you even more opportunity for content views, engagement, and follower growth.
  • Track Your Competition: Since most Instagrammers use hashtags these days, you can stay vigilant and monitor hashtags to see what your competition is up to and what type of strategy they’re using in terms of hashtags. Check out their profile, look at their content, see what’s really getting more engagement, and even reach out to some of their followers or users. They’re likely to be interested in your content since they are already following a similar account.

All in all, make sure that you are always aware of your content performance and how your hashtags are doing. If you keep an eye on your top-performing content, you can continue to replicate it in hopes of more Instagram followers and better content reach. Happy hashtagging!

How To Add A Link To Your Instagram Story: A Step-By-Step Guide

Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms with over 1 billion monthly active users. Are you looking to funnel your Instagram followers to your website, ecommerce site, or blog?

There are not many spots on Instagram where you can put a clickable link to do so. In fact, the only place you can put a clickable link on Instagram is in your bio, and they only allow one link.

Most people use a link-in-bio tool to help them create a link directory, but isn’t there any other way to direct people to your outside website on Instagram?

There is one other place you can put a clickable link on Instagram, and that’s in your Instagram story. This is an absolute must-have if you’re trying to boost your website traffic, increase lead generation and conversion, or see a rise in profits.

Do you know how to add a link to your Instagram story? It’s pretty simple, but there are a few key things you need to know about adding a link to your IG story because you can get started.

After you check out this post, you’ll know:

  • Who can add an link to Instagram stories
  • How to add a link to your Instagram story
  • Benefits of Instagram story links
  • 3 pro tips for creating Instagram stories that work

If you haven’t taken advantage of this feature yet, what are you waiting for? Let’s get started!

Who Can Add an Instagram Story Link?

You may have seen many brands and businesses taking advantage of an Instagram link in their story, also known as the swipe up feature, but how can they do it?

The truth is that this feature is unfortunately not available to all Instagram users, so if you feel like you’ve never seen the option before, you may not have access to it just yet.

You have to have strong Instagram growth before you’ll be able to add a link to your story, so let’s take a look at some of those requirements before we find out how to add a link to IG stories.

Instagram Business Profiles

The first thing you have to have in order to put a link in an IG story is a business or creator profile. If your account is a personal Instagram account, you won’t see this feature.

If you want to switch your profile to a professional business or creator account, here’s how:

  • Tap the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the right corner of the IG app
  • Navigate to Settings
  • Tap Account
  • Scroll all the way down and you’ll see the option Switch to Professional Account
Switch to Professional Account

Select this option and then follow the steps, adding your contact information as well as choosing a business category for your profile.

After you’ve done this, your profile will be set as a business account, and you’ll have access to new features like Instagram insights, call-to-action buttons for your bio, and more, including the Instagram swipe up feature to add a link to your Instagram story.

This isn’t it, however— there’s one more thing your business or creator account must have in order to access the feature.

Accounts with 10K Followers

You won’t be able to have this feature unless you have at least 10,000 Instagram followers or more. If you haven’t hit that goal yet, you’ll want to focus on Instagram follower growth so that you can add a link to your Instagram story.

If you’re looking to get more Instagram followers, using an Instagram growth service like Growthoid can help you get there. Growthoid allows you to reach more Instagram followers in your target audience through organic engagements that are perpetuated by your dedicated account manager.

Your account manager will engage with users in your target audience without any bots or automation, so you will get the right growth and see your relevant followers steadily increase over time. You can save time and focus on content creation and other strategies while you get your follower count up to 10k.

Having high-quality content on your Instagram account is a non-negotiable when it comes to follower growth. Even if you have thousands of users looking at your Instagram account, you won’t grow a single follower if you don’t give them something to follow for.

This includes photos that are visually pleasing and eye-catching, captions that encourage engagement through calls-to-action (CTAs), as well as effective hashtags.

When you have a solid hashtag strategy, you can get your content discovered by more people in your target audience through hashtag feeds that get the right people looking at your account.

Using an Instagram growth service, creating top-notch content, using effective captioning, and hashtags will push your account over the 10k follower requirement that you need to gain access to Instagram story links.

After you have 10,000 followers, the feature will be unlocked and you’ll be able to implement it in your stories.

There’s one alternative to these requirements which we’ll discuss before getting to the how-to guide.

Verified Instagram Accounts

The only way to bypass these two requirements and have the Instagram story link feature is to have a verified account.

What is a verified account?

A verified account on Instagram is when Instagram has confirmed who you are and has issued you a small blue checkmark next to your username. This is typically done for businesses, brands, and public figures to ensure that users can distinguish the official accounts from any other duplicates on Instagram.

If you’re not a public figure or a brand/business with a lot of contributions to your Instagram community in the way of valuable content and lots of activity, you are unlikely to be issued a verified badge, but you can apply at any time.

You can request a verified badge via your Instagram settings; navigate Menu > Settings > Account > Request Verification.

There, you’ll submit a copy of your ID and submit the required information; Instagram will let you know the decision. If you aren’t approved, you can apply again after the 30 day period, but it’s a good idea to continue focusing on your Instagram growth and activity during that period.

How to Add a Link to Your Instagram Story in 3 Easy Steps

Alright, so you’ve got a business profile with 10k+ followers, or you’re verified, and you’re ready to swipe up. We’ve laid out the process of adding a link to your Instagram story in three simple steps.

You’ll then be able to enjoy more Instagram growth as well as website traffic funneling and increased lead generation and conversion. Woo hoo!

Step 1: Create an Instagram Story

Instagram Story

Open your Instagram app and tap on your profile picture in the top left corner. This will open the Instagram stories camera. You can also simply swipe to the right to open the camera as well (Instagram hack!)

Here, you can either take a photo directly from the camera or choose a photo from your photos from your camera roll by tapping the album icon at the bottom left of the screen, or just swipe up.

Once your image is ready to go, you’ll see a variety of icons at the top of the screen. One of these icons will be a hyperlink icon that looks like a small chain. Tap that icon.

Step 2: Add a URL

Business accounts under 10k followers: If you don’t have 10k followers and a business profile, you will still be able to do a few different things using a similar-looking chain icon. Tap that icon and you will be taken to a menu titled more options.

Here, you have the option to link to one of your IGTV videos, which will create a swipe up feature in your IG stories.

You can also tag business partners and use branded content here. You won’t be able to put in any other links, however.

Add a URL

Business accounts over 10k followers or Verified: If you have access to the feature, when you click on this icon, you’ll be taken to the same menu, but you’ll now have an option under the IGTV video option that says URL.

Tap that, and you can then enter the desired link so that users can swipe up to visit it. You can preview it before posting if you so choose.

Step 3: Publish Your Story

Now that you have inserted your URL, you’re ready to post your Instagram story. It’s that simple!

Click Done when you’ve finished adding the URL, and it will take you back to the IG story screen and you can post the story as you would any other story. It takes just a minute to add a link to your Instagram story, so the feature is incredibly powerful and can do a lot of good for your IG account and external sites.

Let’s take a look at some of the benefits of using Instagram story links.

Benefits of Instagram Story Links

There are quite a few benefits of adding a link to your Instagram story. It makes it exponentially easier for people to visit your website because the link will be just a touch away. This means they won’t have to go back to your bio to visit— they only swipe up, and they’re there!

You’ll be able to drive much more website traffic by using Instagram stories; users can even shop from right within the app, making the purchasing process so much easier. They can even check out your blog, homepage, or any other site you link to without leaving Instagram.

There are so many real-world examples of how businesses, creators, and influencers benefit from the swipe up feature, so let’s take a look at some examples.

Liane V

A successful influencer, content creator, and entrepreneur, @Lianev uses swipe up in very engaging and enjoyable ways.

Her main profile @lianev, doesn’t use it as much, but her store’s Instagram @shoplianev makes great use of the swipe up feature to direct users to her e-store.

She doesn’t simply create static content that tells people to swipe up, she creates fun and enjoyable videos that are relatable, building a relationship with her followers and always being at the forefront of her brand.

She also uses catchy CTAs to direct people to swipe up; if you don’t let your followers know they can swipe up to access products or content, they might miss the feature altogether.

If you’re looking for awesome ways to implement swipe up in your content, definitely don’t miss Liane V— she’s got a lot going for her and you may be able to get inspired by her content and CTAs!

It’s not just influencers that are making use of the swipe-up feature; big name brands do it just as often. H&M is a great example.

H&M doesn’t simply link out to their stores and products. Instead, they also give background information about their products, how they’re made, the creators and designers behind it, and more.

They may link to products occasionally, but using your swipe up feature to direct users to your other social networks, make connections with issues that are important, as well as give more background on your products can help build brand loyalty.

What’s more, you can link out to your partners and collaborators, making your reach even that much stronger. Nike also does this very well; they often feature athletes and collaborators, using the swipe up link to direct users to download their app.

All in all, there are many things you can do with Instagram stories and the swipe up feature, so take note of the brands, businesses, influencers, and creators that are using it to inspire your own content!

Artists, Actors, and Musicians

Another way that you can use Instagram stories is to follow the suit of artists, actors, and musicians, linking out to current projects and new endeavors that are going on with your brand and business.

Maluma, Colombian heartthrob and superstar, frequently links up to new music and collaborations with other artists via stories, as does other big singers from around the globe.

Household name Jennifer Aniston does, too— she’s promoting the new season of her series “The Morning Show,” using swipe up to direct users to view the trailer.

There are infinite ways that you can use swipe up in creative ways, linking out to content marketing, lead generation forms and sign-up sheets, free trials, and more.

Pro Tips for Instagram Stories

Now that we’ve heard about some awesome examples of using swipe up in Instagram stories, we’re going to break down 3 tips for Instagram stories in general to help you create the best content.

Include a CTA

We’ve talked about CTAs a few times in this post, so they’re definitely something you should be doing in your Instagram stories. A CTA is something that asks users to perform some action.

This could be clicking a link, responding to a story, voting in the poll, choosing an option, sharing with a friend, and more. You should use these in your IG post captions as well as in IG stories.

If you’re using swipe up, you can ask users to visit the link by using text, stickers, GIFs, and more. You could also instruct them to do so if your content allows for that. Make sure your Instagram story links are relevant to the content that your story is about.

For example, if you’re talking about a new blog post, don’t link to your YouTube channel. Keep it connected.

Track Instagram Story Insights

Story Insights

Another key element of successful Instagram stories is to use Instagram insights to track analytics. You can view this directly from the story itself if it’s still active, or reviewing after it has expired from the Insights menu.

You should be aware of the following metrics when reviewing Instagram story insights:

  • Interactions: what actions did people take from your story? Did they view your sticker or location tag? Did they visit your profile? Did they share or react?
  • Reach: how many people did the story reach in general? Consider that number when you see how much engagement and interaction you received.
  • Next, Exit, Back: What did the user do when viewing your story? Did they leave? Did they go to the next one? Did they go back to see a previous one or see it again?

Keeping tabs on these metrics can help you understand what content is working and what’s not working so well, that way you can keep your content going forward and performing positively.

Create Awesome Instagram Story Content

This probably goes without saying, but creating awesome Instagram story content is one of the most important things you can do. If you’re not sure about how to create cool stories, check out some popular accounts in your niche to get some ideas.

The more engaging and enjoyable your stories are, the less likely it is that people will navigate away, which means they will probably be back to see your stories in the future and they will appear at the front of your followers’ IG story feed.

Even if you don’t have access to IG story links yet, there are so many things you can do to create stories that keep people coming back for more, like:

  • Using video content: people get a closer look at you and your brand through video.
  • Tagging: you can tag locations and users in your stories so that it can be shared. Doing that makes it more probable that your story will be shared and seen by more people.
  • Posting with stickers and GIFs: Instagram stories is interactive in the sense that you can use polls, questions, ratings, quizzes, and more to get your followers clicking. You can also use GIFs to get their attention. You can even turn your selfie into a GIF, so get experimenting!
  • Teasers: when you post a new photo in your Instagram feed, you can use IG stories to tease it and get people to tap to your profile; this increases interactions in your story metrics and gets more people looking at your photo.
  • Tell a story: using Instagram stories that all go together can be a great way to show that you are a thoughtful content creator and have creativity and cohesiveness in your content. If you create stories that end up being connected, users will want to keep viewing them to see what’s next.

If you’re struggling with your Instagram stories and want some templates or premade formats to help your content look more professional, check out Canva. They offer some beautiful IG stories templates to give your content a more branded look.

When your Instagram story content is on point, you can give yourself that edge and get closer and closer to your 10k followers if you’re not there yet!

Final Thoughts: Get More Followers with Instagram Stories

All in all, using Instagram story links can greatly benefit your profile, and you should be taking advantage of them if you have the feature. After all, who doesn’t want more web traffic and increased profitability?

If you haven’t gained the feature yet, don’t stress— focus your energy on producing great content and growing your Instagram account. Use an Instagram growth service to save time and keep working on other strategies that will go hand in hand to get you more Instagram followers.

What is an Instagram Bio?

Instagram Bio

An Instagram bio is basically the first thing users see when they land on your page; it’s like your short and simple business card so that people know who you are, what you do, and what you’re all about.

It’s said that users only take a few seconds to give your profile a quick glance and decide whether or not to follow you, so having a good Instagram bio is absolutely vital to seeing success in terms of follower growth.

For that reason, it’s imperative that you know how to create a good bio that describes your brand effectively and also gives viewers insight into your company.

When a viewer sees your bio and it’s boring, unprofessional, or lackluster, they’ll potentially navigate away and give you not even a second thought.

There’s no one right way to create an Instagram bio, but there are some general tips that every bio should include no matter what niche or content style you find yourself a part of. That includes:

  • An introduction: name, username, and who you are or what your company is
  • What you do: basics of your brand, business, or personality
  • An idea of who you are: people want to see personality come through in your bio and they want to identify with you on a human level
  • An aesthetic: what kind of content do you post and what’s the overall look of your profile?

Because your bio is right in line with your Instagram profile, you have to have a clear and cohesive look that your bio will flow right into.

You are able to edit your Instagram bio via mobile— simply tap the profile picture in the bottom right of the home page to get to your profile.

Once on your profile, click the Edit Profile button. You’ll then have control to adjust your bio, profile picture, and more.

If you’d like to edit via desktop, you can do so by clicking your profile picture and following the same steps.

Why Do You Need a Good Instagram Bio?

There are a few key things that a new viewer will look at when landing on your profile page; they’ll check out:

  • Profile pic
  • Username
  • Bio
  • Instagram story highlight covers
  • Active story right around your profile picture
  • General content aesthetic

Users will typically only view your profile for a few seconds to see what you have to offer them. Because they are going to bounce around to a few different spots, you have to ensure that your bio is catchy and very informative.

This is especially true if they’re navigating back to your bio to check out a link or some contact information; it has to be effective enough to give them the info they need and keep them engaged.

No matter what the purpose of a visit, people will no doubt look at your bio. For that reason, it’s key that your bio is relatable and interesting for your viewers. This goes for business owners using Instagram for marketing purposes, influencers, or even just a typical user of Instagram looking to get more followers.

Let people know who you are and what is important so they can know that from the get go.

Tips for a Good Instagram Bio

There are a few key elements that you have to fine tune in order to have a good Instagram bio. You should:

  • Inform people
  • Catch people’s attention
  • Show your personality
  • Be creative
  • Add value to your profile

Doing this in a short bio can be a lot of work, and you’ll have to be a bit unique and know your personal brand or style so that you can execute your bio effectively. Here are some tips that can help you do exactly that.

Start With Your Username and Photo

It’s likely that you already have a username and a profile photo, but you have to choose exactly the right ones so that they’re in line with your brand and overall profile aesthetic.

Your username is important because it directly connects you to your brand and informs people what your Instagram account is. You want it to be a true reflection of your brand or personality; keep it concise and not too long or people won’t want to type it in or won’t be able to remember it.

In addition, your profile photo should directly connect to your username and brand/business. If you are an influencer, you should feature a photo that falls in line with your aesthetic. If you are a brand/business, use one that is a professional logo that represents your brand and mixes well with the look of your profile.

If you have other online platforms, you should try to maintain brand consistency by having the same profile picture that can be easily identified and related to your other online content. If you have a YouTube or Facebook, also consider using the same profile photo across all platforms.

The final step when working on your username and photo is to consider the name that appears underneath your profile picture— not your IG handle, but the name in particular. You can include your personal name, just your business name, or any relevant information and/or titles that relate to your account.

For instance, if you’re an accountant, you can put NAME — CERTIFIED ACCOUNTANT with any other relevant title abbreviations next to it.

Instagram Bio Description

This is the main thing that you want to focus on when creating your bio, and it’s going to be the thing that pulls your whole profile together. There are a variety of tones that your bio can have, and you have to ensure that it matches your brand, business, or personality.

Some tones include:

  • Funny
  • Serious
  • Informative
  • Brief
  • Witty
  • Direct

The key element here is to stay in line with your brand image and write something that makes sense for your profile while also driving results and giving your followers the information they need.

In addition, consider using hashtags in your Instagram bio. When you find a natural way to include hashtags in your Instagram bio, your profile will appear when a user searches those hashtags.

You should make sure they are specific to your niche and relate to your target audience so that they’ll be likely to come across your profile when looking.

Does an Instagram bio have a limit? Or can it be as long as you want?

You can only include up to 150 characters in your bio, so it has to be effective and to the point. Use emojis to minimize words or if you want to save space.

If you want to add a personalized look, you can use a different font for your IG bio (more on that later), but be sure that users can actually read it or it will be a turn off and likely result in potential follower loss.

Include a Link

When you have a business or creator profile on Instagram, you can include one link in your Instagram bio. This is the only place on Instagram where you can put a clickable link (other than “swipe up”), so take advantage of it.

This is especially useful for users that have external stores or websites that they want to direct traffic to. It’s worth considering a link in bio too, such as linktr.ee, to help you create a link directory via the one clickable link on Instagram.

This link-in-bio tool is great when you have a variety of websites that you want to link out to, especially if they’re all relevant to your account. Some possible links include:

  • E-commerce pages
  • Social media profiles
  • Causes you support
  • Event sign-ups
  • Lead generation pages
  • Blog posts

This is not a comprehensive list, but take advantage of this— if a user clicks, you want to maximize that action.

You can use analytics through your link-in-bio service to see how your links are performing and which ones are generating the most attention and action.

Add a Call-to-Action

Add a Call-to-Action

Another key element to any business or influencer bio on Instagram is a call-to-action (CTA). A CTA is any language that directs users to take a specific action on either your profile or content.

You can use things like “check out my new blog post” with an arrow to your web link, “new collection out now!” with an emoji pointing to your store, or any other action you want your users to take.

You could even say “tag #brandedhashtag to be featured on our page!” This is an excellent way to generate interest in your branded hashtag and get people talking about you on Instagram.

They even have CTA buttons that you can employ directly on your IG profile, including:

  • Email
  • Call
  • Text
  • Reserve
  • Contact

This allows your followers to have a way to reach you and complete their desired action in a direct way.

Choose a Business Category

When you set your profile to business or creator, you have to select a category for your profile. It may seem arbitrary, but it actually helps Instagram get your profile to relevant users on the platform.

If they’re searching for a particular category of profiles, you can appear in those searches and be seen by users in your target audience. You can also display your category on your profile, so it can be a good idea to select the best one for your profile.

Choosing a business category helps to reflect the purpose of your account without taking away characters from your Instagram bio and can get you noticed by more people without doing anything extra on your end.

Edit Instagram Story Highlight Album Covers

Another important component of your Instagram profile is your Instagram story highlights and their respective covers.

You may have seen on various Instagram profiles that there are a bunch of circular albums under their bio. This is where you can pin archived stories to your Instagram profile so that users can view them.

Using IG story highlights is a great way to share additional and important information with users in a visual way. Categorize your stories so that users can find the information they want to see easily and so that they know what they’re going to see in the album.

The only way to get content here is to post it on Instagram stories; you can later create or add it to an existing Instagram story highlight album.

Once you have created content and story highlights, you should ensure that all of the IG story highlight cover photos align with your overall profile look. This allows you to look professional and organized.

Consider using a tool such as Canva to help you design the perfect Instagram story highlight album cover. Select or create something that reflects your brand; there are many, many possibilities and doing a quick search of profiles in your niche can give you some inspiration.

Instagram Bio Fonts

Most people never even consider fonts when creating their Instagram bios, but it can be a great way to set yourself apart and give your profile bio some personality.

People always use emojis, branded hashtags, or link-in-bio to grab attention, but fonts can do that very effectively and also give a whole new energy to your profile.

Fonts will help you to stand out from other accounts in your niche and also show that you have thought carefully about your Instagram and want to put your best foot forward. You don’t want to be just like the other 1 billion Instagram users out there.

While fonts can effectively capture the attention of your audience, you want to ensure they don’t hinder the readability of your bio. It can have an extremely negative impact if your profile viewers can’t read the text, or if it looks childish, unprofessional, or totally out of line with your brand image.

Fonts can be a great option if you use them the right way, so think about how you can implement them without overwhelming or distracting your audience.

How to Find Fonts for Instagram

Fonts aren’t available directly through the Instagram app, so you’ll have to use a font generation tool for Instagram.

The good news is that there are tons to choose from, and there isn’t much difference in terms of functionality. All you have to do is type your text into the provided box and it will then be transformed into the font that you’ve selected.

Then, you’ll cut the custom text out of the box and paste it directly into your Instagram bio. Save it and confirm that it looks as you want it to on your Instagram profile.

There are some great fonts available, but many look very similar and are quite simple. This is due to the “unicode” that Instagram uses, which is a formatting symbol that can work on every single device out there.

The issue is that some unicode doesn’t work as planned and it doesn’t look as it should on every single device; this is when you’ll then see empty squares instead of the desired font. Check it out before you leave it there forever.

If you’re looking for some reliable Instagram font generators, we’ve listed 3 for you. They’re respectable, but keep in mind that it’s not always going to look exactly the same on every device.

1. Meta Tags Font Generator

Meta Tags

What we love about Meta Tags Font Generator is that you are able to preview the font directly in your IG bio before you copy and paste it. That way, you can be sure that you really like the font and don’t have to go back and forth pasting into Instagram and checking it out.

You can generate fonts and see how it will look both on Instagram as well as Twitter without having to change a single thing first. After you’ve decided on something that looks good for you, simply hit Copy and you can then paste into your Instagram bio.

The service is completely free and even works on desktop, so it’s a great way to implement fonts into your Instagram bio with ease.

2. Instagram Fonts

Instagram Fonts

Also known as IG Fonts, Instagram Fonts makes it easy to use fonts in your Instagram bio. It’s available on any web browser and is ultimately a very simple tool in functionality.

You just type in the desired text at the top of the page, and you will then see all of the different fonts available that you can copy and paste into your IG bio.

They even offer a few that implement emojis into your bios, which is kind of cute. While they do have a lot of different options in terms of fonts, there are quite a few that are hard to read, so make sure you choose one that’s interesting but also practical.

3. Lingo Jam

Our last choice here is the LingoJam Fancy Text Editor, offering you the chance to create a bio in different fonts with no strings attached. It basically works as a translator, taking your original text and putting it into a variety of font formats.

They especially love emojis, and you’ll see many of their options have put a bunch of random emojis along with the text. While interesting, they’re probably not super practical for an Instagram bio.

They also have an option that allows you to design your own font with a bunch of different rules for each letter that you can create, so that may be a fun way to show some personality if you get it just right.

The Benefits of Using Different Fonts in Your Instagram Bio

When you use a unique font on Instagram, you’ll definitely get some attention, but there are both pros and cons. The main con is that you run the risk of it not showing up the right way on every single app or browser.

It shouldn’t be a huge problem, however, as most people browse IG on iOS or Android devices that are all pretty much the same. If you test it out, it should be good for a majority of users.

Overall, there are more positives than negatives; you can reach your target audience and connect through the font, set yourself apart from other accounts in your niche, as well as make a good and thoughtful impression on your viewers.

Let’s take a look at a few of the benefits you can reap when you use fonts in your Instagram bio.

This is one of the main benefits— your users see that you are thoughtful, creative, and purposeful in what you do. You go above and beyond to provide a unique experience for your users so that they can enjoy what you have to offer.

Using fonts on Instagram also shows that you’re in line with what’s trendy and loved by many. You can even change your font every now and then to show that you’ve got style and are consistently reinventing yourself in the best way— through creativity.

People want to make connections on social media, and when you use a font in your Instagram bio, you give people something else to enjoy and relate to. If they feel they can connect with your personality and offerings through your Instagram bio, they’re likely to follow you.

Fonts are meant to be expressive and show feelings and emotions, so choosing one that reflects your brand in a strong way will help you have an even stronger image and personality that people can connect with.

Last but certainly not least, you can enjoy differentiation when you use fonts in your Instagram bio. You are meant to showcase your work on Instagram and you want to do this all the way down to the details.

There is no shortage of creative and innovative people on Instagram, either, so anything you can do to make you more memorable and intentional than your competition is of great benefit to you.

There are tons of hashtags and emojis and even links in Instagram bios, but not as many people use fonts in their bio— many people don’t even know how!

1. Keep Your Aesthetic in Mind

Because Instagram is a very visual platform, using fonts in your Instagram bio can set you apart from other profiles. The key here is to use a font that adds to your brand image. If you have a fashion blog, you’re probably not going to use fonts that are blocky and dark, for instance.

Think about how this particular font will enhance your brand image and stir up a response from your target audience. Fonts in the Sans serif family are typically more informal and modern, and serif fonts are usually more sophisticated.

There are also cursive or italicized scripts, which are usually seen as romantic, femenine, and even luxurious. Using blocky and modern fonts are usually a bit more tech-friendly and readable.

You can even find fonts that reflect who you are by replacing some of the letters with the right emojis once you get it into your bio.

2. Use Fonts with Purpose

Fonts with Purpose

While fonts are really cool and unique, there is such a thing as too much. You can have up to 150 characters in your IG bio, but does that mean you should use a bunch of wacky fonts in the whole thing? Probably not.

Remember that your viewers are probably looking at Instagram through a smaller screen (even large cellphones are a pretty small viewing space).

In order to minimize clutter and unpleasant user experiences, choose only a small portion of your bio for the unique font. This helps to show personality, emphasize words and ideas, while still allowing users to find the information they need easily.

For example, you can use a special font for your name or title, and then continue the rest of the bio with your link and any other relevant information in normal fonts. That way, even if your font doesn’t appear correctly on all devices or some people can’t read it, it won’t hinder your whole bio and they can still read the rest.

It also makes the words you did use fonts on more important, memorable, and special.

3. Be Consistent

The last thing we want to mention is that you can choose any font that works with your content, but you want to make sure that you don’t change it every single day. Keep it around for a while— after all, this font relates to your brand and highlights who you are.

You can even use similar font styles in your Instagram captions so that you have a level of brand consistency from your bio to your content as well. Use it to emphasize important words or phrases in your captions and even implement them on other social networks.

The goal is that people see your online presence as something solid that isn’t wishy-washy. You have a strong brand image that is simply accentuated by nice fonts on Instagram and other social media networks.

Final Thoughts: Instagram Bio Ideas

Creating the right Instagram bio is no easy task— there is a lot to consider when you want to make sure you aren’t losing potential followers.

Take a look at all of the suggestions listed above for each niche, and also take a look at a few Instagram profiles to see what type of bio they’ve got going on.

Any of the above suggestions can be altered, tailored, or expanded to exactly what you’re looking for, so use them as inspiration and then go from there!

The main goal is to show your personality, get users to outside web links, give important and relevant information, and ultimately get more Instagram followers.

12 Instagram Trends that Will Affect Social Media Managers in 2021

Instagram is the kind of community that is always evolving. This means that keeping up with Instagram trends is something you’ve got to always be on top of. The platform is always introducing changes, and its users keep accepting them.

This is why when an influencer that you follow adopts a new trend, you’ve got to be able to go with the flow and adopt it yourself. The question we have today is how can managers of social media adopt new Instagram trends and make the most of them to enhance their client’s success on Instagram?

The quicker social media managers can bring on new Instagram trends and implement them into their content strategy, the more successful you will end up being.

At the end of the day, if you are utilizing trends, then you are going to be favoring Instagram’s algorithm, and you’ll be able to expand your reach. It also gives you a chance to share your content in a way that is completely fresh.

If you are trying to get on top of some of the biggest Instagram trends of 2021, then read the article below.

1. Instagram is Not Far Behind Television

Instagram first came out with IGTV in 2018, and it looks like it was an extension of Instagram stories. It meant that Instagram users were able to film more parts of their lives. However, it exploded. 78% of total mobile data traffic is going towards mobile video.

Despite the fact that IGTV was slow to grow, everyone predicts that it will continue to head in an upwards trajectory.

So, what does this mean for social media managers? It means that you need to find a way to include long-form video content in your content strategy.

You can include things like Q&A sessions, interviews with other influencers, and behind-the-scenes content to draw your audience in. Basically, you can treat Instagram like your very own TV show.

2. IG Live

When it comes to IGTV, thanks to a recent update, you can not only share video content through this form, but you can share a brief preview of your video in your feed. If you see the example below, you will see vertical videos from IGTV on her feed.

IG Live

You might not think that this is a big change, but it actually is. It is because it gives you a great opportunity to engage with your followers.

Before this feature turned up, it was actually difficult to promote your IGTV content. In fact, there were a lot of people out there that thought that IGTV would be Instagram’s biggest fail.

However, now you can write captions and encourage people to check out your IG TV content in your feed, which means that you can connect the two, and really enhance this aspect of your content.

3. DMs Are a Big Deal

If you watch Instagram stories a lot, then you will probably have noticed that when you reply to someone’s Instagram story, this becomes a direct message. Brands and influencers are using the questions sticker a lot in their Instagram stories to encourage their community to talk back, and then they will share these answers in more Instagram stories.

Direct messages are becoming an effective way for brands to connect more closely with their Instagram followers. You can either share a text message, a voice message, or you can even share a video chat.

Instagram is slowly becoming a messaging platform that is convenient, which means that you don’t have to be limited to just commenting ang liking posts. Now, you can engage with profiles that you really like, on a more intimate level.

Maybe it is time to see Instagram create a messaging app that is separate from the main platform, like Facebook has done. All we know is that you definitely need to make the most of direct messaging when it comes to your content strategy for Instagram.

4. Influencers Are Still a Big Deal

There was a bit of a dip in influencer popularity there for a bit as people started to distrust influencers who had been accused of promoting brands and marketing them without being clear about what they were marketing, and what they were getting from the marketing.

In layman’s terms, they got paid to show you a product, but they didn’t disclose this. This is why a lot of Instagram users began to call out people that they thought were doing this, often writing on their posts that they believed they were being misled.

This resulted in influencers now being obliged to include paid partnership tags, including ones like #sponsored or #ad, which you can see in the example below.

This is different for Instagram influencers and businesses though; they have to be a lot more transparent with their campaigns. There was a fear there for a while that customers would be less likely to buy from a company, if the influencer wasn’t being forthcoming about collaborating with them.

However, despite this setback, influencer marketing is still very much on the rise, especially when it comes to Instagram. Even with Instagram’s new disclosure policies, influencers on these platforms still have a huge amount of authority and are doing really well collaborating with brands.

This is why we still think it is worth your time collaborating with influencers and reaching out to people within your industry to make the most of your existing platform.

5. Long-Form Content

You already know that Instagram is a visual platform and relies on videos and images to be successful. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t enclose long-form content, and the idea of a long caption is becoming more commonplace.

Just check out the caption on the post below. You will notice that Gisele has used her platform to include an eye-catching image, but the real content lies in her caption.

We believe that in 2021, we’re going to see this long-form content increase in popularity. People are going to demand more from brands and influencers than a short, snappy caption.

They want to be able to engage in discussions and learn more about the story behind the picture. We think that this is a good time for you to focus on Instagram captions, and consider this an essential component of your content strategy.

When it comes to being a social media manager, we think that it’s time to step up your caption game and think about what your audience is going to want to see when it comes to lining up your captions nicely with your images.

6. Greater Transparency

86% of people based in America believe that transparency on social media is more important than most other things. They say that video content seems to be the most transparent.

Among other factors that are used to decide whether a brand is transparent on social media or not are honest responses to queries, admitting mistakes, diversity and employment, and disclosed prices.

Consumers also want brands to be more transparent about company practices and values, any changes to their products, employment practices, and policy changes.

There are a lot of lessons to learn here for brands. When their audience demands information about their business, they should be prepared to provide it. Social media is a great platform to provide transparency to your community.

As you can see in the infographic below, consumers think that video is the most honest medium, which means that you can use everything from Instagram live to Instagram stories, and video posts in your feed.

When you include yourself in a video on social media, you can easily build trust with your audience, because they can see that you are attempting to bridge a gap. If you need to admit that you have made a mistake and apologize for it, then we suggest that you do so in a video.

If you are trying to work through an issue with your company, and you don’t have all the answers yet, then we suggest that you live stream, and try to have an honest conversation with your audience.

At the end of the day, consumers want to see transparency and a video is a great way to increase this level of transparency with your audience.

7. IG Stories Becoming Commercialized

You have probably noticed that Instagram stories are now including ads as well. This is because a lot of people are now preferring to watch Instagram stories than spend time scrolling through their feed.

Stories are new and fresh, and there is something new to see with your Instagram stories every day. Some people even update that Instagram stories every hour.

Instagram stories

Instagram stories are ideal for big brands, but with opportunities for marketing, the potential grows even further. The thing about Instagram ads is that they don’t have to be complicated or expensive, you just need to have enough for your viewers to want to visit your profile, and even end up following you.

8. Instagram Shopping

Thanks to one of Instagram’s latest features, Instagram shopping, Instagram users can now earn money directly from their Instagram feed. This is a huge step, because this means that potential consumers have even less in their way when it comes to going from a follower to a customer, and buying your product.

When a potential customer has to leave the Instagram app, every step away from the platform is a chance for them to decide that they actually don’t really want to buy that item. When they can buy something on the app, they are much more likely to go through with it.

Instagram Shopping

Instagram shopping became even more relevant in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic, when everybody was locked in their homes. We think that you can make the most of this feature to tell the story of your brand, and enhance your audiences’ purchasing experience.

9. Instagram Live

Because everything has suddenly been shifted online, Instagram live started to do really well amidst the lockdowns.

Brands and business owners everywhere started to share their stories, and followers found new ways to connect with the brands that they really cared about. No matter what industry or niche you are in, Instagram live is going to be an integral part of your Instagram content strategy in 2021.

There are a number of different ways that you can use Instagram live to build that bridge between you and your audience, even if you don’t want to do the kind of video that involves showing your face.

Instagram Live

You can share tutorials on how to use your service or product and walk your audience through the process of using your service or product step-by-step. You can also introduce your team to your audience, let your community ask any questions they have, and host interviews with people in your industry.

It doesn’t matter how you choose to use Instagram live this year, just make sure that you are getting creative, and remaining consistently present on the platform.

10.  Values and Movements of Social Rights

Social Rights

This isn’t technically a trend, but it is definitely something that is important for 2021. Generation Z is dominating the social platform right now, and they are passionate about finding brands that are vocal about their morals and values.

Companies need to be able to showcase their values and stance when it comes to social media. It’s also important to remember that consumers can easily tell when you aren’t being genuine and authentic.

This means that if you are going to be prepared to take a stand on social rights issues, you will need to go all in, and keep your messaging consistent. This means that we don’t suggest you just post on a topic one time. You will need to be prepared to be consistent about that topic and continue to address it further down the line.

11.  Use a Link in Your Bio to Encourage Conversions

Making the most of a link in your bio has always been a feature that has been available, but it is currently increasing in popularity as more brands look to turn their followers into customers.

Of course, Instagram shopping is a great way to keep people within the platform, but sometimes there are reasons that you need to link your followers to another website, or another social media platform. This is where including a link in your bio can be really helpful.

It can also be helpful to have a link in bio too, where you cannot include more than one link in your Instagram bio at once. Your followers might only see one link in your bio, but technically you will have multiple places that that link can send them.

We definitely suggest that because Instagram only lets you include one link in your bio, you make the most of the real estate that you’ve got and use a link in bio tool that can encourage your followers to go to all the different pages you are hoping they will visit.

12.  TikTok Domination and Reels

There is a good chance that if you use Instagram on a regular basis, then you will know about Instagram reels.

You are probably also familiar with TikTok. TikTok and Instagram reels are creating a whole new type of content that users are starting to expect to see when they go on the platform. These catchy, short videos are becoming part of everyone’s Instagram feed, and the best part is that they are relatively easy to make.

If you haven’t made the most of Instagram reels yet, then we highly recommend that you do. The good news is that you don’t have to come up with fancy dance videos. Even a quick video that shows your products, while you play a trending song in the background can really make a difference when it comes to your brand.

Whether you like it or not, Instagram reels are here to stay, and we think that they’re going to become even more popular in 2021.

Instagram reels

At the end of the day, we cannot accurately predict what Instagram trends are going to catch on and continue to do well. However, we can tell you that Instagram trends are always changing, which is why it is important for brands to make the most of them on a day-to-day basis.

The more you know about Instagram trends, the more you can jump on them, and make the most of them for however long they are here for. Good luck!

4 Ways to Promote Your Snapchat Through Instagram

While we are a big fan of Instagram here, we also value other social media platforms out there as well. If you are a brand or business, then you most likely have your brand or business on multiple social media platforms and should be trying to grow them all at the same time.

This is why we don’t think that Snapchat is irrelevant, even though Instagram has more or less taken over.

While it might seem like there’s no point being on Snapchat anymore, and you should be putting all your efforts into Instagram, we actually think that you can leverage Snapchat, especially when you connect it to your Instagram and increase your brand’s presence online.

So, how do you use Snapchat to improve your Instagram profile? Don’t worry, we’ve got the answers. Let’s talk about it.

1. Include a Preview of Your Snapchat Story

The thing about your Instagram followers is that they can’t even check you out on Snapchat if they don’t even know that you have a Snapchat.

However, instead of being super blatant about it and begging your followers on Instagram to go over and check out your Snapchat, we suggest that you take a screenshot of your latest story on Snapchat and publish it as your latest Instagram post.

You also might want to tease on Instagram what you might be including in your Snapchat throughout the rest of the day. If your Instagram content strategy involves consistent themes, then we suggest that you translate these to Snapchat as well.

Of course, this isn’t going to be appealing to everyone, but we have a good feeling that your most loyal audience is going to try and stick with you both on Instagram and Snapchat.

2. Put Your Snapchat Handle in Your Instagram Bio

Instagram Bio

This seems straightforward, right? Well, the good news is that it is. If you have launched a business campaign or special product in the past, there’s a good chance that you have included a shortened version of a link to the landing page on your Instagram profile.

We realize that a Snapchat handle isn’t the same as a link, but it does provide a portal through to your Snapchat, where people can see even more of your content. This is why we think it is super relevant to include your Snapchat handle in your Instagram bio.

You can just write out the word ‘Snapchat’, or you can even make the most of a ghost emoji. Don’t worry, the majority of people will know what you mean when you do this.

3. Make the Most of Your Account’s Snapchat URL

With the next strategy, you are going to do the same thing that we have talked about above, but you are going to include a Snapchat link instead of your Snapchat handle. You might not even realize that Snapchat comes with a URL, but it does.

When your Snapchat URL is selected on a mobile device, the link will obviously take that person to that particular Snapchat profile, where they can start interacting with you.

However, it is worth noting here that Instagram has actually blocked the ability to deeplink ‘add me’. This means that if you have decided to use this strategy, then you will need to shorten your URL, using a link shortening tool.

4. Include Screenshots of Your Snapchat for Instagram

Anybody who has spent a lot of time on Instagram will tell you that it can be exhausting coming up with Instagram content all the time.

The thing is, you might have been enthusiastic about it in the beginning, but now you might be getting jaded on the entire thing, but you’ve got to keep up appearances because your audience is expecting it. This is where Snapchat can come in handy.

Snapchat is a great way to cross promote your content, so that you can make it go further, and you don’t have to put out new content as often. When you upload content to your Snapchat, then we suggest taking a screenshot of it, and including it in your Instagram feed.

You don’t have to do this every day, but it’s definitely worth doing a couple of times a week, just to remind your audience that you’ve got a Snapchat and stretching your content out.

Final Thoughts

Yes, most people believe at this point that Instagram provides more value when it comes to their content than Snapchat, but we still think that the bottom line is that the more interactions you can have with your audience, the better.

Whether you are making the most of this through Snapchat, Instagram, or both at the same time, we think that being accessible as a brand is key to success.

You might not be used to sharing screenshots of your Snapchat content over on Instagram, but we definitely think it’s going to do nothing but give your brand an advantage. Good luck!
