Hey everyone, I’m new to Twitch and keep seeing people donate Bits during streams. I kinda get that they’re like tips, but how do Twitch Bits really work behind the scenes?

How much do streamers actually earn from them? And is it better than subs or donations through other platforms? Just trying to understand if it’s worth focusing on Bits or not to earn money. Thanks!

Bits are Twitch’s built-in tip system. Viewers buy them and “cheer” in your chat—each Bit is worth $0.01 to you. It’s super easy and safe, but Twitch takes a cut upfront when people buy them. Some streamers also buy Bits to gift or boost hype during streams. Not the highest payout, but great for engagement.
