Business owners, how do you deal with negative google reviews? I run a small business and recently got a 1-star review that seems totally fake. No details, no name I recognize, and it’s bringing down my rating. Super upsetting.
Is there any way to get Google to delete reviews like this? I tried flagging it but haven’t heard back. Curious what’s worked for other business owners. Should I just respond publicly or keep pushing to remove it?
I feel that, dealing with fake or unfair reviews is the worst. Google’s super slow (and picky) about removing anything unless it clearly breaks their policies. It’s not likely they’ll remove.
First of all, I usually respond politely to negative reviews so others can see my side, but real talk… a lot of small businesses are boosting their profiles and buying Google reviews.
It’s not about faking your reputation, just balancing out the fake, random 1-stars with some 5-stars to stay competitive. Most people won’t trust a business with a low rating, even if the bad reviews are bogus.
Just make sure you’re buying from somewhere like ReputationManage that writes natural-sounding reviews and spaces them out. Spammy, all-at-once reviews can actually hurt you more than help. Good luck!
